We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Chenault and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
If you had told me 5 years ago, I would be a business owner, I would have laughed and told you you were nuts. I was well on my way to becoming a psychologist and wanted nothing to do with business. I had no aspiration for entrepreneurship but when I had kids, that all changed.

I have three children ages 9, 5, and 3. They are the joys of my life and everything I do is for my children. I love spoiling them and giving them the chance to have the very best of life. After I graduated college, I realized how challenging it would be to give my kids the lifestyle I dreamed of with the salary I was currently on. I realized I was not as prepared for real-world work after leaving college and so I got a job at a car dealership I had worked through college.

I hated working as a car salesman but I hated the idea of going back to school for more education even more. I was stuck and I felt hopeless looking at living a boring life and constantly grinding every day just to get by.

I began reading books on how to get rich and going into business for myself was something that just kept coming up. I could not live the way I was living and expect to be rich, I had to do something more. I knew it would be challenging but I knew I had to take the leap. I quit my job, earned my real estate license, and three years later, making well over six figures and preparing to create multiple streams of income within my real estate business.

Every day I wake up and create unlimited opportunities for myself. I never envisioned the freedom and flexibility I would have as an entrepreneur. The best part is that I get to be there for my kids whenever they need me and give them the very best of life just as I dreamed.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a proud Georgia REALTOR®! I find the most value in being a multi-faceted agent. I am a GOD-fearing man, I am a family man, I am a minority, and I am New Yorker! I have yet to find someone I was not able to find commonality with and that is what helps me help anybody I meet.

It took me three years to get to where. I am in business. It was no cakewalk. For two years I did not make a lot of money and it took a toll on every aspect of my life. By the second year, on my birthday, I was about to give up on my real estate career. I told myself, ok what else do I see myself doing? I could not find an answer. I knew that I loved real estate and nothing was going to stop me from succeeding. So my plan B was now to make my plan A work and now I’ve made six figures and we have another half of the year to go!

I learned that mindset is everything. You have to be positive, think big, and go get it like you have no other choice. To be great, you have to be different and you have to sacrifice. You have to be willing to do what others will not and you have to be a student and the master at your craft. Always ready to learn but know the work better than anyone else.

My greatest strength is my network. I grew my network very quickly and have so many talented and brilliant people I can call on. They make me look so good and help me win deals. I would be nothing without those in my network.

I want the world to know that I love what I do. I am extremely passionate about real estate and do all I can to win every deal for my clients. I will go out of my way for my clients and treat them like I would my own family. I pride myself in my youth and my willingness to go the distance for my clients. I dream of being a household name thanks to real estate. I want to serve millions of people. My end goal is to be able to create premium health and wellness opportunities in low-income neighborhoods, teaching that “health is wealth” and financial literacy is the door to wealth.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The first day I’d have to go grab lunch at Ponce City Market and afterwords walk the Beltline. Then I would suggest stopping by Jeni’s ice cream for some of the best ice cream in Atlanta. I highly suggest we take a trip to the Battery, watch a Braves game and grab dinner at Yard House.

Other great spots are Puttshack in West Midtown, Good Game at the Battery, Buckhead bars, Avalon, and the wineries in the North Georgia Mountains.

The Georgia Aquarium and the Coke tours are staples. Piedmont Park, High Museum of Art, College Football Hall of Fame, and the Atlanta Zoo would be on my list.

Fogo De Chao and the Sundial would be high on my list!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank my wife, Ashley, for believing in me when my dream seemed farfetched. When it seemed hopeless and I was not going to make it, you never gave up on me. I can never repay you for that. Without your relentless support, I am not the success that I am.

To my kids, thank you for giving me the strength to keep pressing on even when I may want to give up. Daddy loves you!

Mom, you taught me the skills I use every day to be successful. You instilled in me putting GOD first, loving my neighbor, and working hard no matter what. My diligence and work ethic come from you, but most importantly you taught me how to be a GOD-fearing man, the key to a successful life. I am not the man I am today without you.

To my brokers, Daniel and Thomas, thank you for always having a word of encouragement for me.

Thank you to every one of the many men and women who partnered with me to get a deal done.

Thank you to those who prayed for me, encouraged me, shared a meal with me, or gave me an opportunity to win, thank you!
