We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyleda Sanford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyleda, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
It has taught me to never depend on the support of friends and family. I’ve learned that your biggest supporters are people you don’t even know.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am 53 year old serial entrepreneur with four grown adults and 4 grand kids .I started doing hair at the age of 16 years of age doing me and my best friend hair weekly. The word got out and I was getting appointments daily. By the time I was 27 I bought my first house and became an salon owner. I now own an online boutique, tax service, an interior decorator business and I’m also an state of Alabama notary signing agent and of course I still do hair. Being an entrepreneur is never is but rewarding. I got here by Reminding myself of the challenges I had growing up as an teenager mother that I wanted better for my kids and that kept me hustling. It wasn’t easy but I had an great support system.I wanted them to know that they were appreciated so I worked harder. I’ve have always been a giver .If I could help, I did help. Be in business for yourself is learning experience that you will later appreciate. Trail and Error is part of life and its definitely part of business. You will make some bad decisions but you have to smooth it out and keep going. There have been.plenty of time I wanted to give up but it wasn’t instill in me so I had and have to keep going. My brand was built on love.Love from people I didn’t even know. Encouraging words from people that wanted to clap even harder for me. That’s exactly what my brand is built on love and support. Supporting my fellow entrepreneurs is important to me because I love receiving it back. The lifting and supporting one another.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to Perfect Note friday night.I love life music. The food and music is very tasteful. Saturday we would go to top gulf.Having fun is always relaxing. Great drinks and food. Sunday we will attend Agape Church. After church will grab us some brunch at Bistro. I hope she enjoyed herself.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person I would like to shout is my deceased mother. I had my first child at 14 years of age and she was determined that I graduated from high school. I did that and graduated from college also. She use to always tell me that whatever people think that you are show them something different. It stuck with me and ran with and I still hear her saying it everyday.
