We had the good fortune of connecting with Trinity Francis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trinity, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most crucial lesson my career has taught me is that I can’t do everything on my own, nor should I try to. When I first started out, I fell into the trap of thinking I had to handle every aspect of my business or wear all the Marketing hats for a business as a contractor. But that just led to burnout and a whole lot of mediocre work.

I realized pretty quickly that just because I can do it all doesn’t mean I should. So, I embraced outsourcing. It’s like magic. Handing off tasks to experts not only lightens my load but also brings in fresh perspectives and skills that I simply don’t have.

But here’s the kicker: when you outsource, you’ve got to charge what you’re worth. At first, I lowballed myself, thinking it would attract more clients. But that only led to undervaluing my time and expertise. All this gear is NOT cheap! I soon learned the importance of pricing myself properly. It’s not just about making money; it’s about setting a sustainable foundation for growth.

So, if there’s one thing my business has taught me, it’s this: delegate like your sanity depends on it, and don’t sell yourself short!

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What sets my photography apart is the passion and dedication I bring to every shoot. I strive to capture not just images but moments – those genuine, authentic expressions and emotions that tell a story and evoke a feeling. I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients and the trust they place in me to capture their special moments.

As for how I got to where I am today professionally, it certainly hasn’t been easy. There have been challenges along the way, from navigating the competitive industry to learning how to balance creativity with the business side of things. Also navigating the change from working as a full-time Entrepreneur, to having to shift gears and join the corporate world Monday-Friday to comfortably support myself after COVID.

One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the importance of resilience and adaptability. The creative industry is constantly evolving, and being able to adapt to changes in technology, trends, and client preferences is crucial. I’ve also learned the value of collaboration and community. Surrounding myself with supportive/likeminded peers and mentors has been instrumental in my growth and development as a creative.

Ultimately, what I want the world to know about me and my brand is that being a creative in today’s economy isn’t easy. I value my audience’s feedback immensely; it’s what drives me to continuously improve and innovate. Building lasting relationships and creating a sense of community is at the core of what I do. I believe in fostering connections that go beyond just transactions, creating a supportive and inclusive space for everyone involved. And perhaps most importantly, I’m open to the idea of adaptation. In an ever-evolving industry, being flexible and willing to embrace change is crucial for growth and sustainability.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am an Alpharetta native, so I would definitely have to start there first. Walk the streets of downtown Alpharetta and visit the Avalon for shopping and amazing food. I love True Food Kitchen and The Cape Restaurant! For late night drinks and bites, “Up on the Roof”and “Taffer’s Tavern” are ideal!

If I am in Atlanta, you can’t go wrong with walking The BeltLine, exploring Ponce City Market, or checking out Westside Provisions District. I absolutely love “UpBeet” for a quick lunch and “Two Urban Licks” for a nice dinner!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely, there are a few people and groups that I’d love to give a shoutout to, starting with my fiancé, Josh. He’s always there to lend a hand at shoots, whether it’s packing equipment or providing his brutally honest opinion during the editing process. Plus, he’s incredibly supportive, even when I impulsively splurge on new gear. (which happens more often than I’d like to admit)

But beyond that, I also want to extend a huge thank you to every single person who has booked a session with me, interacted with my content, or referred me to others. Your support and belief in my work are what keep me going. It’s not just about the business; it’s about the connections and relationships that are formed along the way. So, to each and every one of you who has been a part of my journey, a HUGE thank you!
