We had the good fortune of connecting with Toya and Tonya Tann and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Toya and Tonya, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We have been bartending for 20 years. Bartending has always been a secondary supplemental job for us. We love going to sports bars and restaurants for food and cocktails. One issue that we noticed is some bartenders aren’t knowledgeable. They would put too much sour mix, under/over pour the ounces with the alcohol, or just not being able to differentiate vodka from tequila. After observing common mistakes, we wanted to start our own bartending classes and show our creative side with making cocktails. In addition, we hope to leave the nightlife soon to expand our mobile bartending services.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are country girls that are originally from Rich Square, NC. We moved to Atlanta, GA in 2002 to attend college. We were introduced to bartending 6 months after moving to Atlanta through a gentleman that was amazed that we were twins. Never imagined that we would start off at a night club, but this is where we started our six weeks intense training course. Bartending has brought in so much revenue over the years. I mean we were able to purchase our first house in 2020 :). This is all because it was easy money and we took bartending seriously.

What sets us apart from everybody is that there are 2 of us. We work very well together. We think of the same ideas and laugh about it. We finish each other statements and thoughts. The best thing is that we really didn’t run into any challenges because we were always with each other. It’s soooo cool to have a twin. It’s double the fun!!

We have learned that bartending is great money, but you have to know that it fluctuates at times. When you make the money be sure to save. We also learned that a hobby can be turned into a career. It’s all about how you see it.

Our brand is just not about making drinks, it’s about being creative. It’s about learning to work with different types of people. Most importantly it’s about having fun.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would go to Toast at Lenox for brunch. They have a different variety of food to choose from and the food is amazing. For dinner we would go to Frank’s at Old Mills which is located in Fayetteville, GA. They serve different cuisine such as, Italian, American, and Mediterranean food. We would probably end the night at the movie theater.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Naeshairdesigns.. You can find her on ig. She motivated us to turn our personal ig account to business.
