We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiara Bebbs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiara, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
I’ve come to find that most outsiders don’t realize the value in hiring a nutrition coach OR even have the knowledge that we exist. To be truthful, I don’t fault them because before my own personal health journey began I didn’t have a need to know about my, now, current title and how a nutrition coach could help me to at least prevent what I later had to experience.

What should our readers know about your business? We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others.
I believe what sets me apart from other nutrition coaches is my story and genuine passion in helping others. Honestly, if I didn’t experience having uterine fibroids and also getting a myomectomy to get them removed so that I had an opportunity to give birth to my own child in the future, I probably wouldn’t be as passionate as I am about guiding other women to applying healthier eating habits to their lives. I’ve personally experienced living a life that was not strict on what I ate or even being super active, but it wasn’t until I was told otherwise from my 2nd gynecologist that I started to take the necessary steps to living a healthier life. I didn’t want to rob myself of not only being a mother someday, but also birthing my own child. Now, jumping from corporate America to being self-employed was definitely not easy. BUT it has been worth it. I’m a strong believer in God and my faith has been in him since before I was told it was time to jump. My true goal is to help others become prepared for their purpose by realistically introducing them to healthier eating habits. So many of us are knowingly and unknowingly allowing our health to slow us down from pursuing what has been uniquely created for us and I want to be a part of stopping that. There is someone out there waiting for YOU to take that next step so that they feel brave enough to take the next step for the next person and I refuse to let the foods you eat stop you in your tracks. It’s important to become more aware of the foods that you’re consuming, what they’re doing to you and how to realistically eliminate them so that it’s not overwhelming for you. Having a nutrition coach alongside you and guiding you through that journey helps to ease the process, reducing the stress and feeling of being overwhelmed, and also holds you accountable.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmm…I would definitely take them to the Atlanta Beltline. There’s sooo much to do and you can literally just park your car and have a full day of activities. If it’s a beautiful day outside, we would rent some bikes and ride along the Beltline and find a restaurant in-between time. Maybe even have a few drinks. But not too much because we have to make it back home! lol! When my girls come to visit, I definitely have to have a night of dressing up and hitting a lounge. My go to has been Hookah Cru Lounge, but I need to look for more spots. Of course, we have to do brunch, because who wouldn’t be down for mimosa’s on the weekend? I love Negril Village’s brunch and they usually have a DJ or a live band. It’s perfect!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly, the first thought that came to my mind is the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. I’ve been working at one of their facilities as a part-time employee for over 2 years now and it has changed my entire career path. I never would’ve considered working in the health & fitness industry, but working with an organization who’s founded on helping to better the community has been life changing for me. There are so many employees who thrive off of giving back and members who are truly thankful in what the Y is and has done for them. It’s really a moving movement.
