Meet Theo Ivory | Professional Wrestler, Author, and Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Theo Ivory and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Theo, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It gives me a sense of peace that I’ve never felt with anything else. As crazy as life can be sometimes, we all need that.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I work in finance and no it’s not easy at all. Not only do I have to maintain my 9-5 but also for wrestling, I have to attend training 2-3 times a week. Then I may have a show out of town that weekend so that’s at least one day I have to myself. The one key thing I’ve learned throughout my career in finance is that work/life balance is so vital. You have to be able to separate yourself from your work mentally and be able to enjoy time for you. It’s still very challenging to this day for me but I am enjoying getting to enjoy life a little bit more.
I want people to know that you can do anything you want in this world, but always make sure you make time for you!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Philadelphia and the big thing here is cheesesteaks. Whenever I have family in town, they always want to try a cheesesteak. The other notable things here at the Rocky Steps and LOVE sign that’s downtown. I prefer to drink at home since it’s much cheaper, not to mention safer. But outside of a cheesesteak there’s not much else I can think of. I’m the epitome of a homebody so I probably am not the best person to ask for fun things to do lol

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shout-out my home promotion CZW! They are my family and have been so supportive me on this journey and have helped me so much in so many ways. My aunt LaTonya Brown has really been instrumental in my life and success because she has always kept me level headed and accountable. She gives me the real about everything straight no chaser, but does it in a way that I know it’s coming from nothing but love. She has helped my growth into an adult more than anyone I can think of because being an adult is not your age, it’s your state of mind and I needed to understand that. There’s so much more I could say about her but nothing could do it justice.
