We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrence Nwankwo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terrence, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
A couple of things really. I love to play video games, i enjoy cosplay both as a photographer and a participant, i enjoy taking photos of people and seeing their reactions to my work, and making other people laugh. If i can get a good laugh out of someone then in turn I’m glad i can bring another smile to someones day.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Actually it isn’t easy and I’m still down that path to turn my craft into a full time profession. I love taking photos. I’ve have an entire back catalog of photos i have taken. However sometimes things get difficult where you have to make a decision to put your passions aside to make sure you can make a living. I had to remove a lot of old pictures and close out an old website because it wasn’t beneficial to keep it sustained. Now that i had a job that I’m a bit more stable in i use that extra time to build my craft back up. I’ve learn though that to keep pushing forward you have to do more than what is just required to build.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place we would visit is Battle n Brew up in Sandy Springs. Before the world changes I would visit there at the end of every Saturday and every other Tuesday. I’d have him try the Dragon Talons which are these big pieces of chick like tenders. I usually order that just because of how big they are and with a side of whiskey. The best part of the place is that it’s a gaming bar so you can rent T.Vs or computer stations for as long as you want til close. It’s just an overall great experience to have good food, drinks, and great people. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Mother and Father Patricia Nwankwo and Michael Nwankwo. Even though their paths might have different from each other they never let those difference come between my growth as a person. Also my younger Brother Darian Nwankwo. He has persisted in his college career where as college wasn’t for me he always gave me a call lifting my spirits to keep working on my own craft and skill set. Finally my good friends Chris Powell and Johnny Hatney. Every time I’ve come up with an idea or needed some advice they’ve never stopped to let me know if it’s wrong or right. I’ve always received the hard truth about my decisions which kept me on a straight and consistent path towards my goals.
