We had the good fortune of connecting with TeQuilla Holloway and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TeQuilla, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
As a 20 year old mom to my son Corey, I learned the importance of dependency, reliance and determination. Our challenges were constant reminders of “keep going TeQuilla, there’s more”. Just like me to my parents, he looked for me-for love, security and nurturing. At 33, I managed to take a break from the many jobs to have Isaiah. You’d think I was a professional mom…. I truly started over. Of course Corey noticed a change in my parenting- I grew more patient and less “strict”.
My children watched me work 2 full time jobs, graduate from college and blossom into entrepreneurship. Although it was never the plan, my passion, skills and creativity led me to inventing a program for youth all around world. With the help of my mother and kids, we’d count bobby pins, package beauty supplies and deliver them to afterschool organizations. By 2017, I met and married my loving husband and his 2 children. We were now a family of 6 with an adorable granddaughter, Khori.
As of today,,nearly 12 years later, our children (5 and 3 grandchildren) get to witness us work Funtology and the impact it’s making in the lives of children. Since 2014, Funtology has been placed in over 500 organizations within 30+ states and 3 countries. As I sit back and think about it fully, I’m overjoyed with gratitude. For the first time, Corey and Isaiah experienced the program and they now see hard work, perseverance and dedication will reap great results.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The greatest lessons I have learned are to trust the process, embrace change, and never underestimate the power of career exploration, community and a child’s love for hands-on learning. I want the world to know that behind Funtology is a story rooted in faith, family, and a deep commitment to helping others thrive. My journey is proof that you do not need a perfect plan to create meaningful impact, you simply need the courage to keep moving forward, even when the path ahead is uncertain.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m ready to jump right in to answer this one…. In a week long trip, my best friends and I are gearing up to head to every afterschool program taking Funtology supplies, tablets, school supplies and so much more to help them dream BIG.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout out to God for loving me enough to orchestrate a plan and the open-book steps to carry it out. Next, I’m shouting out my loving SUPERMAN-Husband Frederick. When we met, he told me he would help make all my dreams come to life- and he does EVERYDAY! This group shoutout is loud because it has to be heard on all coasts… To my family, friends and Kevin Harrington, one of the original Sharks on Shark Tank. My family and friends have been major encouragers on this Funtology journey. Fred and I met Kevin in 2019 as we appeared on his tv show: Get Down To Business. Kevin’s leadership, advice and love of our program gave us the push we needed to flourish.
