We had the good fortune of connecting with Tequesta Diggs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tequesta, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
My name is Tequesta Diggs, and I am from a small town in south GA-Thomasville. I am the owner of Sashay All Day, LLC. We are an online women’s clothing boutique that specializes in accentuating a woman’s best physical features. I personally understand the struggles that some women face having to dress their curves because it has been my experience since adolescence. There was a time I was referred to as ‘Hips and Dips’ in high school because of the span/width of my hips and the ill-fitting jeans I wore at the time. It was embarrassing for me, and it affected the way I viewed my body. Years later, that same embarrassment ignited a fire in me to learn which type of clothing complimented not only my body shape (which I now know is pear shape) but other body types as well. My business’s mission is to empower women, instill confidence, and foster a sense of beauty that transcends conventional norms through the transformative power of women’s apparel.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a certified, clinically competent speech-language pathologist since 2010. I currently work full-time in public education and as needed in skilled nursing. Despite the pleasures that treating children and the elderly bring, nothing brings me more pleasure than having a part in women feeling comfortable in their bodies through the transformative power of clothing.

My journey into entrepreneurship has not been easy. I’ve definitely had some challenges along the way. In my first year in business, I realized my lack of business expertise. To overcome some of those challenges, I completed a 12 week business incubator and entrepreneur training program for minorities, Spark Thomasville. The program was a true blessing. It guided me through the logistics of business structure and financial literacy, and it taught me the necessary tools to build a profitable and sustainable business.

I want the world to know that my brand, Sashay All Day, is about empowering women and enhancing their beauty and confidence that transcend societal norms.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Believe it or not, I am an introvert. I honestly don’t hang out too often in Thomasville. From time to time, I enjoy a steak from Longhorn Steakhouse or fish and grits from Jonah’s in downtown Thomasville. If my best friend visited the area, I would suggest we drive down to Tallahassee, FL or maybe Destin, FL and enjoy some shopping, zoo, museum, or a bite to eat (my favorite restaurant is Texas Roadhouse).

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my mama-Julia Diggs. She has been my cheerleader, my prayer partner, my promoter, my first unpaid employee, and repeat customer since day one. At the age of 81, she continues to encourage me to keep going and that my hard work will pay off. In this preliminary stage of my business, she often reminds me-“It gets greater…later.”
