We had the good fortune of connecting with Te’andrea Bigsby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Te’Andrea, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
If I could choose, I would want my legacy to be that of someone who consistently chose to grow and face every challenge with triumph while spreading love and light throughout the world. I believe that every experience, tragedy, and trauma has shaped me into who I am today, allowing me to be able to share my deepest thoughts on life with everyone that I come into contact with. It is apparent to me that it was and is in God’s plan for me to go through many insignificant situations in order for me to serve my true purpose on this Earth. You know the saying, “God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers?” That in fact is what I believe. Nothing is done without reason, and that’s what has led me too continuously fight and persevere, even when life seems unbearable. The legacy that I’m building is much bigger than me. It’s about showing up every day so that the people I connect with, love, and meet can see and hear my story to be able to dig deep and realize that they too, can keep going despite what may come their way. I advocate for healing in every aspect and believe that healing is the answer to success. So, what I want people to remember about me is that I’m not perfect nor has my life been, however, I chose to start healing from within, building my strength, and going after everything that aligns with what I was put here to do, and that’s to share my testimonies through speaking, writing books, selling apparel that has true meaning, and overall motivating and inspiring someone else. I may have gone through the trenches, but I will come out on top, and my story and success will be the very thing to get my peers to reach for the stars and use my journey to get through theirs.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my brand ItsTeAndreaUnique LLC, in 2023. I was inspired to do so because of all of the talent and components that make up me. ItsTeAndreaUnique started with a different focus of all things me, from being a hairstylist, author, mom, business consultant, and so much more to now focusing on showing and telling the realities of the life that I live/lived. I’m building a brand based on trauma that I’m super excited about. In 2023 I wrote a book called ‘Trauma Kills, Let’s Heal. The sole point of my book was to let people into my world to see and feel what I experienced with hopes that it could have an impact on them throughout their lives. I now make videos, clothing, and poetry to reach the masses. There’s a deep message behind my brand and I want everyone to understand that. Nothing that I’m doing with this business is about money or just me. Knowing my story and hearing my view on things opens up a window of opportunities for others to look at life a bit different and teaches them how to use what they’ve been through to gain all that life has to give, instead of only seeing the worst in life.

I got to where I am today by turning my pain into purpose. It’s not been easy at all but what I can say is that the journey is getting better, and I can see just how good it’s going to get. I’ve struggled physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, and mentally. It’s crazy to say but I don’t think that I would have ever grown as much as I have without the wounds that were inflicted on me. I’ve learned a great deal of lessons along this journey. One thing that I’ve learned is that healing is not linear, and neither is success. They both require a lot of patience, perseverance, and the willingness to be vulnerable. Sharing my story in the most authentic way creates an effect that invites others to reflect on their own experiences and find their way through their own struggles. Another important lesson that I’d like to share is how throughout life whether it be along the lines of business or healing, you must create boundaries and prioritize yourself. Sometimes that requires pausing and refilling your cup in order to have an overflow to give to others. The beauty within all of this is that you’ll get closer to your goal and level of success in every way, and that does include financially.

I want the world to know that I am here to empower, inspire, and connect. I’m on a mission set out by God. That mission is to create a space that’s relatable for all and showing people the power in transformation. I strive to be a voice that reminds others that they are not alone.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was in the area, I would definitely take her to all of my favorite food spots, there’s a lot of them but just to name a few, International Roti House, Wings 101, & Copeland’s.

Drink spots: I don’t drink much anymore but a few spots that I’ve been to are La Parilla, Xperience, & Boogalou.

The most exciting spots for me, are the luxurious looking spots where you can take good pictures, hear great music, and just vibe with people that have good energy. I also enjoy getting out in nature and just connecting with the world to feel refreshed.

An ideal week of fun for me would be eating good, shopping, girl talk sessions and getting pampered.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shout out to everyone who has believed in me, pushed me, motivated me, and encouraged me to never give up. I have to give all praise to God first, along with all of my family, friends, and strangers that see me. Shout out to all of my loved ones who were in the dark with me to wipe my tears, hear my cries, listen to my feelings, acknowledge my behaviors without judgment and just remind me that they got me. Without them, I wouldn’t be here today to give my testimony or to show up for others in their time of need. I’m honored to have people in my life who stood by me not only when the sun was/is shining, but in the darkest days when the only thing that I thought that would fix things in my life was death. I couldn’t see what they saw until I gave all of my worries to God and relied on my loved ones for strength when I was weak. I love you all and you know just who you are. Thank you! I’m forever indebted.
