We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanisha Charron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanisha Charron, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote, which is actually my sons favorite quote as well is “hardwork beats talent when talent fails to work hard”. It’s a mantra that I instilled within my son and I try my best to embody daily. God has given each one of us an innate gift and everything that we need internally to become the visual representation that we want to be, its up to you to apply yourself and dedicate yourself to fulfilling your goals and aspirations. What I love about this quote is that it challenges you to not rest solely on being good at something. You can have all the talent in the world but if you fail to practice your skill set or study your craft the level of success one could attain becomes limited. There will always be someone who may not be as talented or as gifted as you are in your field but because of their work ethic and hunger to be the best at what they do ultimately that will be the deciding factor between who is number 1 and number 2.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a professional makeup artist, ceo of owner of primal instincts cosmetics, primal skincare and Tanishacharron.com what I’m most proud of is the fact that I truly stuck to my vision and turned myself into a brand. I never anticipated that in the past 2yrs I would have accomplished the level of success that I have. The road was certainly not easy and I had some long nights crying and praying to God for clarity and patience. I believe that me being me is was sets me apart from others, God created me uniquely and regardless who does what I do, only I can do it the way I do! Me having that confidence while being humble has opened so many doors of opportunities for me. During my journey on becoming who I’m destined to be I’ve lost friendships and relationships however, the peace and gratification I’ve gained has been worth it. Along the way I’ve learned that not everyone wants to see you succeed and that you can not expect people to support you the way that you support them. However, despite the tribulations what I would want the world to know about Tanisha Charron and my brands as a whole is that with God, good work ethic, and a positive mindframe anything is possible. I’m a living testament!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of the most exciting places to visit is the Roswell Mill the historic park is simply majestic. It has a huge waterfall and plenty of areas for hiking. I’m a foodie and I love supporting other black owned establishments like Le Petit Marche its a French and New Orleans style brunch spot. I adore the live band on Sundays and the ambience is just beautiful. When I want to party Suite Lounge is my go to they host the the best day parties in atlanta. I also love just walking the beltline or riding my bike along the beltline visiting the various shops and restaurants along the trail. I love that  you can meet so many people of different cultures on the beltline.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My inspiration and daily motivation for becoming the best version of myself would definitely be my son Mykel Williams and my grandfather Lawrence Miller. My grandfather was such an influential person in my life. I watched my grandfather retire from IBM and start his own business, which is where my entrepreneurial mindset stems from. Each day I try to be more like the businessman my grandfather is. My son is my entire world and as his mother I felt like I couldn’t tell him to be the best version of himself or to dream big and reach to his goals if I was not living by example. With each day I draw breath I make it a personal goal to try to make my son proud.
