We had the good fortune of connecting with Taeji Dudley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taeji, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
At the end of my career, I want to be a wealthy and famous photographer that has captured many moments that help inspired people to not only take pictures, but to have a passion for it. I don’t people to just pick up a camera and to start taking pictures knowing that they don’t have a passion for it. I want them to actually like do what they doing. I see my self living in a modern house that’s not too big and not too small with one reliable car. I’m a simple man, I dont need to have 10 houses with 100 car garage with a 100 cars. I want to be able to wealthy to the point where I can have money save up for the next few generations so they can be set for life and be able to follow they dreams like how I currently is. I want to be at a point where money will no longer be a issue and I can do what I want and when I want at any given time and not have to worry about is I’m going to have money left for a responsibility. I want to have a family with at least one to two kids. I want to be known by everyone by the work I did and how I carry myself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a lifestyle photographer. I got inspired by the photographer named “Gunner Stahl”. He’s from Atlanta and he has taken many pictures of my favorite artists that I listen to everyday like Chief Keef, Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, Gunna, Lil Yachty, Pierre Bourne, and more. After getting inspired by him, I ended up buying a Nikon D3100 camera on facebook marketplace for like $125. Once I got the camera I look on youtube for tips and took pictures of friends and family to get perfect my craft. I bought lens and other things for it and got better as time went on. I wouldn’t say its easy, I would say that I like taking pictures and whatever problem that I came across, I was willing to fix it because I liked to do it and had a passion for it. A big lesson I’ve learned along the way is DON’T LET PEOPLE DICTATE YOUR LIFE AND DO WHAT YOU WANT DO. So many people didn’t get the idea that I like what I was doing and that I have a preference on how I like to do things. For example: I don’t like studio photography because I like to be outside and the whole idea of studio photography just seems fake to me. I like to be outside just like my younger childhood days. I’m not trying to be in no studio putting fake props and things of that sort. I also don’t like do videos because videos isn’t my thing. I would do a video for close friends but I just don’t get any joy from doing it. Countless people tried to persuade me to do stuf that I don’t like and I didn’t fold to do them. I want the world to know that if you have A goal and A plan, you can do it however way you want.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am not going to lie, Chicago has got boring over the years, but I will never stop loving my city. I’d say lets go downtown so they can see the buildings like the Willis Tower and the water tower. I would also take them to the car meets that will be going on around town. They be doing burnouts and drifting in park lots. I can’t really name a lot of stuff to do because they isn’t things to anymore and that is one reason why I be going out of town occasionally.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my Mother because she had been there every step of the way. Even though, she be hating sometimes, she makes me want to go big in life. Glo Navy Gaming is a gaming group created by Chief Keef that I’m in and it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention them. Everyone in the group specializes in something and see everyone achieving they goals in the group inspires me to do better. I will like to also thank my auntie Tasha, Great Grandmother Bobby, and my father because they also play a big part in my life and had helped me countless times and help me become the person I am today. I will like to thank my friends that I have today because they always give me suggestions and help me strive for more in life.
