We had the good fortune of connecting with Tabatha Clements and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tabatha, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Always having a positive attitude no matter what the circumstances are. I have made it a habit/a practice to always remain happy, cheerful and humble regardless of what life throws at you. You may not always have the most pleasant encounters with people, but always remain positive. There are so many day to day issues that we all face, some worse than others, but try to always maintain a positive attitude. I am a firm believer that treat your business and employees with dignity and pride, they will treat your business with the same dignity and pride and more. A smile and positive attitude can change someone’s day!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Where do we start on this journey in 2020? Baking has always been a passion of mine since a little girl, watching my grandmother mix cakes with her hands! Professionally, for the past few years, I have worked very hard to brand my baking business. From baking for baby showers to Weddings, business was doing well. 2020 was the start of a new adventures for my business, from attending decorating classes, learning new fondant techniques, cookie and sugar art was on the Agenda. The trailer was going through a transformation, adding new features for the 2020 Bridal season. So many great goals were being accomplished, so many new ideas, everything was going smooth…and then…life threw me a completely unexpected curve ball…

On February 27, 2020, I was sitting a work with a headache. Fast forward to 11:00 a.m. I was in ICU. I had a stroke. Life changed as I knew it. At the time, my mobility to my right side was limited, my motor skills were weakened, but I remained positive. I prayed daily, asking Jehovah to give me patience and strength and we could handle the rest. My faith and love for Jehovah and his word and the love for my friends, just indescribable…to have to learn to move again has been a challenge, but WE did it!

As of June 12, 2020, I started back baking full time! That passion for baking is still there!! Thank you for all the love and support! Now let’s finish accomplishing these goals….

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely restaurant hop! Atlanta is filled with so many great restaurants.. Just to note a few of my favorites when my friends visit or if you are visiting from out of town: The Iberian Pig, 10 Degrees South, The Optimist, Poor Calvin’s ,Two Urban Licks, the Gypsy Kitchen…and the list goes on forever! Great entertainment spots would definitely be the Painted Duck and Ponce Market..

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Tiffany Clements, Pink Pearls Hair Salon. Not only is she my sister, but she is my support. On Feb. 27, 2020, I had a stroke. My sister and so many friends stopped her life to help care for me. She has been a rock to my family and I can’t thank her enough in words for her courage and support. Thank you Tipp!
