We had the good fortune of connecting with Sirdarius Rashod and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sirdarius, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks are something that is very necessary to become successful. But to me risk has some what of a negative approach. Instead of saying risk, I say taking a leap of faith. If you want to change your circumstance, if you want to change your living situation, or your career path, you have to learn how to take a leap of faith. You will never know if something will work until you try. Sometimes all it takes is to take a leap of faith. Trust in your abilities, in your talent, in your inner self and gifts and just go for it.

It’s not going to be easy but it will be worth it in the end. When I decided to take a leap of faith and bet on myself, I was able to accomplish a lot that I never knew I could. I met so many celebrities, so many athletes, and people who inspired me while growing up all because I took a leap of faith. I trusted in God, trusted myself and my abilities, and trusted the process.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My niche is using humor, dancing and inspiration to uplift people. I am actually in the field of Law Enforcement, but what sets me apart from others is because I’m using my platform to change the view of how people view law enforcement officers. Over the past few years, things have been rough in our communities. No one respects the police. We have lost their trust, respect, and cooperation. I wanted to do something that people can relate to and to show that not all law enforcement officers aren’t bad.

So I took my talents to social media. I am known as “Deputy B”. Some call me “The Dancing Cop” others call me “The Funny Cop” but I’m just “Deputy B, The Deputy of The Streets”. I want to relate to the community and the people of the streets. By using social media I was able to reach millions of people. Making the smile, laugh, be inspired and to get them to dance with me.

Even though I got some push back on wearing my uniform while doing these things, nothing can stop what God has for you. I feel this is my purpose to change the world. So many people have reached out and pushed me to keep going, keep posting, keep inspire because it’s needed. And where there is a need, that’s where I’ll be. Not just on social media but I created a nonprofit organization just to bring more to the community. My nonprofit is called Step by Step Initiative, Inc. where our goal is to empower, inspire and uplift the community through laughter, smiles, inspiration and dance.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Even though I live here in Atlanta, I really enjoy Los Angles. There so many places to visit and experience. From shopping on Rodeo Drive, to cruising down Long Beach, to visiting the Hollywood Walk of fame, LA is definitely a place like no other. There are so many greta places to eat almost a block from each other. The vibe in LA is dope as well. The people are so chill there and just open to communicate with you. There is this one spot though called the Hush House where creatives come and work on new material and collab on projects. That spot is exclusive and dope and it sit right on top of the city where you can see the whole entire city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout every single person who believed in me, most importantly my wife, Brittany B. She has stood by me through the good and bad of my success thus far. She keeps me pushing and striving to be better. I also want to give shoutout to Devon Franklin. I am a huge fan of his and he is like my distant mentor. I love his faith in God and his strength on standing on what he believes in. His story of his success is inspiring and I hope to meet, become a mentee and work with him one day.
