We had the good fortune of connecting with Simeon Kidd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Simeon, how do you think about risk?
Risks taking is necessary if we want to make it in any career field. Risks are at every turn, and sometimes the biggest risks have the biggest out comes. Without it, we wouldn’t get anywhere in life.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m most proud of my growth. I started my whole career when I was young and was an outcast from my peers and what felt like my family as well. I was bullied from a young age all the way till high school. I use to get through my days by singing, dancing, or making someone else feel good when I wasn’t feeling the best. Seeing smiles on other people made me smile more, especially if I was the cause of it. I knew from the age of 7 years old that I wanted to be an entertainer/ talent scout.
There were so many challenges I went through alone with no guidance or teacher to help, but I knew how bad I wanted it and I had to be the one to go get it. This life/lifestyle was not easy to build. It challenges everything you know, emotions, thoughts, everything you can think of. Nothing you learn in school. I had to “roll with the punches” just to come close.
I’ve learned that there are many different types of people and how they are willing to gain success. Some do it the right way, others will do anything to obtain it.
Me, I do it the right way because I always have my mothers voice in the back of my head.
I want the world to know that there are some really good people out there actually willing to help you. When I make it big time, I want them to see that im one of them. Not just in it for the money but to see those smiles when they achieve there lifetime goal and dreams. And I’ll be right there smiling with them because I know I helped make that happen!
I also want my music to heal, I’ve been through a lot on my journey and I talk about it in my songs. Some songs I speak directly but others are metaphors.
Always keep going, because once you stop it’s harder to pick up where you left off. Just keep going! Take a break if you need to but never STOP!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had to take my close friend out and show them around for a great Memorable time I’d have to show and start with some of the basic’s, depending on where there from. I’d start with the beach so we can soak up some sun in the morning. From there I’d take them to Joeys in Woodland Hills for brunch. Then maybe a quick rooftop day party for some light fun. I’d also have to see what events are going on that week/day because there’s always something goin on. But see this is where it can get alittle spontaneous. Since there’s always so much to do, I’d give them options and let them pick. I’d say would you rather go to Every Day People, The Black Flea Market, or keep it simple and go for a game night and drinks to end the night. I can keep going on and on with a list of outtings and events. But everyday would be different but always exciting.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother has been the biggest support/ mentor/ and fan of my whole journey. When I feel like I can’t go anymore she picks me right back up and I get stronger and get the strength to carry on. A lot of the times in my Career I’m alone and I have to use my mothers words in the back of my head. “Keep going” “ Just Pray about it” “ Don’t let anything or anyone stress you out” “Manifest it” “My son doesn’t give up when things start to get hard, calm yourself and find the answers”
