We had the good fortune of connecting with Shyreon Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shyreon, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Fit and Pretty Fitness creates content, classes and trainings geared towards women who are seeking a new beginning in the world of fitness. My goal is to teach women that their health is important because it not only empowers them, but it helps them to become a positive influence on their families as well. In my community I currently offer classes such as Barre, Pilates, and uniquely designed bootcamps to show them that the world of fitness can be fun and there are so many options for movement.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My official journey began about 5-6 years ago when I was working as a Special Education Coordinator and I was asked to help my team get in shape by providing a weekly Bootcamp. I enjoyed helping others transform their lives so much that I began personal training and teaching classes at local gyms. By my second year my classes began to pick up momentum for attendance and it became more clear to me that this is truly what I love doing. I was so inspired by clients feedback and how creative I was allowed to be in creating classes with my team. Working as an educator for years I feel has prepared me for this next phase of my life, and I look forward to using everything I’ve learned to create a brand that provides a professional, fun and rewarding environment for all women to grow in fitness.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my downtime I enjoy hanging out with family/ friends in yoga, twerk or Jazz dance classes as well as trying out new restaurants across Atlanta. As an Atlanta native you may catch me almost anywhere from museums to relaxing walks on the belt line.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest supporters will always be my parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and ultimately my village. Along the way I have received some amazing support from several fitness professionals who have been so gracious to meet with me to discuss how to improve in the industry as well as giving me opportunities to grow under them, and I’m so very grateful. Their influence has assisted me to develop professionally as well as challenge my creativity.
