We had the good fortune of connecting with Shuneil Gadson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shuneil, what do you attribute your success to?
One of the most important factors behind my success is that I don’t do what I do for the money. When I began my career in the beauty industry I was captivated by the confidence my artistry brought to my clients. That kind of confidence, money just can’t buy.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a makeup artist and photographer who specializes in helping my clients feel beautiful, exude confidence and bringing visions to life through photography and creative direction.
This journey has been full of ups and downs. Many days I’ve battled comparison and depression. Those were some tough days but I learned hard work and perseverance. One of the reasons I’m still successful in the beauty industry is I am always willing to learn and I’m not afraid to keep trying.
One thing I want the world to remember about me , my brand and story is that I used my influence to help bring out the beauty in others.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One thing my best friend and I would do is definitely hit up Sephora to update her makeup bag. Then we would have a girls night and I would show her how to use the products we purchased.
Next we would do brunch that flowing morning, followed by some shopping. My friends know that I’m not a busy body so we would definitely make time to relax and enjoy each other’s company by catching up and listening to music.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family, friends and a few mentors who’ve helped me along my journey. Pastor Willie Diggs and Sylvia Smith.
