We had the good fortune of connecting with Shevay Drayton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shevay, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal is to be able to leverage my time. I would love to be a full time online trainer to be able to spend more time with my son and have a platform that can reach women not just locally but all across the country. I love training and mindset coaching and I believe once you take care of the mental than you are able to focus on the physical. I also have the vision that I will earn my pro card in bodybuilding, and that would help open the door for me to become an NPC judge in the future for bodybuilding competitions and being able to help other young ladies who want to enter the bodybuilding world.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
MissFit Chevy is my personal brand dedicated to women’s empowerment in fitness. My goal is to inspire and help all women achieve healthy lifestyle changes. I want to be able to bring awareness of mental health and how a balanced mindset helps with achieving a better physical change with our bodies. When I train my clients, I do mindset and accountability coaching weekly to assure that we are not only focused on weight loss/gain, but making sure we have a balanced mental. My goal is to continue to make an impact with every young lady that I work with.

Lady Lift is my female only weightlifting class that I created to help women learn the basics of weight training and building confidence while toning and sculpting their bodies. I am most proud of being able to create lifelong relationships with the ladies that I have coached and help each of them attain their desired results and love their bodies no matter where they are in their journey.

My ultimate goal is to continue to impact lives through empowerment and fitness; to help women with self assurance while achieving a healthy lifestyle commitment.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely have to take her downtown on King Street for shopping and brunch at Halls Chophouse. Then, depending on what events are going on that weekend is where we would attend next. There’s ALWAYS some event happening in Charleston whether it’s a day party hosted by TheWettExperience (on Instagram), an experience with chill Vibez by Courtnay Coan, you’ll be guaranteed to have the time of your life visiting the city of Charleston SC.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shoutout Kendrick and Niasha Robinson for seeing the vision and bringing me into The Factory to coach fitness classes and train clients. I had self doubts that I was ready to train but they motivated and supported me and 2 years later I’m still apart of The Factory family. While training here I have helped many women build confidence and commit to a lifestyle change. This is what keeps the fire burning inside of me, knowing that I’m able to help other women change and grow mentally and physically. I truly thank the Robinson’s for helping me perfect my craft and live out my purpose!
