We had the good fortune of connecting with Shel Levy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe risk plays a huge part in starting anything in life. Without risk you aren’t able to grow or at least trying anything new for yourself. In my life I have taken risk to start my sneaker business especially when everyone and their mom resells sneakers. Tons of people told me not to join an already over saturated market but I took the risk and I’m thriving in just a few months.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve came a long from where I started from. The road wasn’t easy and still isn’t it takes a lot of consistency and repetition. In order for me to continue this journey of YouTube and photography and reselling shoes, I must be more consistent with the content I’m producing. I’ve come from getting five to ten views on reels and videos on social media to now my biggest video having almost 100 thousand views. I remember when no one would go to my website to purchase any sneakers to now having at least 10 sells a week. I’ve learned that consistency is keep and once you keep pushing yourself and your brand people with start to follow and view you one by one.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being in Atlanta you have multiple hang out spots to choose from. I would start the trip off with brunch at Breakfast at Barney’s which is a place I love to eat at, then we could go to the mall and do some shopping, of course we have to do some sneaker shopping at places like heet Atl, Good Times , Wish Atl and etc. the next day we could tour the world of coke the aquarium and the Cnn build. After that where ever the day takes us we can go. I would wrap up the trip with a underground car meet just to let loose
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out my parents for always allowing me to try different things and find what I truly like to do. My mom has always been my number one fan with anything I do from play instruments to playing sports and now becoming an influencer.
