Meet Sharenika Cummings: Actress | Model | Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharenika Cummings and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sharenika, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I have always been a risk taker. It has always benefited me in the end. The process does not feel good, but it doesn’t suppose to. Risk taking keeps me out of my comfort zone. Once you become comfortable it is easy to become complacent. My 1st major risk I took was leaving my 9-5 being stable after having a new born to move to Atlanta with no where to live, no plan other than I wanted to work at Tyler Perry Studios, and which that happened. I slept in my car for a month until I got on my feet.
2nd major risk applying for a 3 bedroom home with no money. I literally was lead by the spirit. When you take risk that is faith walking, and many times in man eyes you look foolish because it doesn’t make any sense. It dont suppose to make sense. You just supposed to be obedient and trust the process. I bought a house at the age of 28.
3rd risk which definitely took me way out of my comfort zone because all my life i have worked for man. I do my business on the side, but my 9-5 would be my main focus and get all my time. God dealt with me about leaving the studio and persue fulltime entrepreneurship. I had just published a book and run several different businesses in my home, but i wasn’t trying to leave Tyler Perry Studios. Im like come on God my dreams coming true and you want me to leave after I buy a house then turnaround and buy a new car. So i was like nawl this aint God talking it’s me. God told me no, and to trust him. I crying, i was scared, i was nervous because i have two daughters in a one parent household. I was afraid of what if it dont work. I left on good terms to the point the door was open to return because of my work ethic and positive attitude. Two weeks after leaving my book went international. My business went global from social media. God makes no mistakes. We just have to trust him.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My business is called All in one creations where i do graphics, logos, flyers, labels, business cards, decorate events, make covered treats, and more. It’s a one stop shop for your business needs and event needs. My business was birthed out of my testimony.
Right after high school when i went off to college i chose to live a fast lifestyle. I dreamed of modeling and acting, but i did it all the wrong ways to the point i disgraced my body because of the mindset i would do whatever it takes to get to the top. I became a victim to sex trafficking by being at the wrong place at the wrong time going after my acting/modeling career. After that trauma i prayed and made a vow with God to give me so many ideas and hustles that i will NEVER go back to that lifestyle and settle for quick money for a easy come up. I told God im willing to work for it. Literally after i surrendered and cried out so many ideas was coming to me that i had to write down. The ideas i would get i would research it and dont see them anywhere. I was known in my hometown the go getter and unstoppable. Also i was consistent. And it’s now paying off. I named my book hustled through the pain because i had all the wrong hustles, and now i have all legal hustles.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So i would take them to the cnn tour. Do a anchor scene, and then go indoor skydiving. Then go eat at pappadeaux.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and friends for supporting me and helping with my kids. The Marc Coley business academy and all the 6am crew. They made the process easier. Tyler Perry studios family for still being in touch and supporting me. One of my coach Prophetess Meadows for training me. My church family The Harvest. And my PR team.
