We had the good fortune of connecting with Semii and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Semii, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand would have to be my reputation in consistency in quality and innovation. Regardless if I’m working in cannabis, music or events, I’m always focused on ways to create something or do something that has not been done before within that space; that will only add value to the overall experience. A lot of times people get lost in the same ideas “or personal preferences” they do already and end up getting stagnant not thinking about the actual brand / project story itself. I view brands / ideas as people so I’m big on defining everything about how that product or service would look, taste, smell, wear, etc. and then getting creative on how it can scale. I’m very big on seeing the vision of where things are heading and aligning the right people / systems in place to bring it to life.

But regardless of industry overall – I do think people just genuinely like to and want to work with me outside of just my expertise.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My personality and way of thinking is what sets me apart from others. I’m sure a lot of people will just say I know “A LOT” of people and my network is crazy but honestly all of that is just offsprings of my personality and consistent level of just getting shit done. It’s funny because I just really love creating dope shit while working with dope people.

Relationships and consistency is what got me here today. I was always consistent in making sure whatever I do I got it done at such a high level. Even if I was interning or assisting – I made sure to be the best at it & had the work ethic to back it up – after time and time just built a track record of things I’ve done in different places and word of mouth just speaks for itself.

& “was it easy?” lmao . That’s funny. Nah it wasn’t at all. But I play the games I win at so I already knew mentally I’ma get everything I ever wanted in life by any means – It’s just GODs timing when.

I want the world to know – that it doesn’t matter where you come from, what cards you were dealt with you can still make all your dreams come true – everything you’ve ever wanted. No idea is too out of reach. I want first generation Americans, foreigners, women, everyone to look at me and see themself. Regardless what comes your way – you handle that accordingly and never let THAT get in your way of reaching where you want to be. Period.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First off we’re kicking off the day hiking – whether that’s Runyon or Culver City stairs depends but I love to just go out and explore so living in LA I just appreciate all those getaway spots. I would then probably take them to Highlight Room for brunch / happy hour vibes. Love that place and just the ambience there. Afterwards, probably have some event or function to go to that I have to do or a show or going to a basketball game at Staples (Crypto.).

Places you must check out: Calma (Dispensary) in West Hollywood, take them down to Slauson & Crenshaw to show where the Marathon store was – Nipsey plays a big role in my life so gotta make sure you see that.

Food – Habesha food! (Ethiopian / Eritrean restaurants) Little Ethiopia in LA is pretty dope – we didn’t have anything like that in Jersey. & If you in LA after hours classics are Bossa Nova or Berri’s (get the “lobster pizza”) – those 2 spots are a part of the LA tourist starter pack.

BUT FYI – best weekend to come to LA is when we have our FACE2FACE event of course. Then you get to really see what LA is like in one setting.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It takes a village to raise a child. There’s so many people to highlight but I’d like to dedicate this to Stevie Williams. One of my best friends, mentor, just biggest blessing GOD sent in my life. I was homeless, living in my car on my music pursuit in LA when I met Stevie, and as much as I tried to hide that from him he found out and when he did – he made it his business to at least extend a helping hand. Mind you he had no obligation at all doing so but he looked out for me in December 2018 and here we are 3 almost 4 years later. At the time he had a house in Vegas he barely would be in and opened it up for me to just have a place to lay my head in and not have to stress with the day to day survival needs.

From then – he opened my eyes more than just music; he always supported everything I wanted to do but if you know Stevie you know he’s one of the biggest icon today with skateboarding / fashion / tech & NFTS now – one thing for sure is he’s the ultimate hustler. With that in mind – he empowered me to live and go after my purpose and not limit myself with just music cause he knew I was able to do so much more. & Instead of having me “take away music” he positioned it as to always just add to it. & He was living proof on how you could do so. He saw my greatness and all he did was support that and from there so many doors opened for me. I wouldn’t be in cannabis and where I am today being able to adapt the lifestyle I live if it wasn’t for him. So if you ever see him, thank him again on my behalf.
