We had the good fortune of connecting with Samuel D. Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samuel D., have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Having work life balance has been crucial especially once having started my own business. The work does not get done if you don’t put in the time so I’ve found it very important to carve out time in my days to focus on business as well sending out emails and invoices, making website updates, etc…. It’s also important to remember we are only human at the end of the day it’s also crucial to include time for fun, rest, and relaxation just as much as for work.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is my determination and passion for my craft I love cooking and I love people and doing what I love allows me to bring both together so well. I got to where I am today through my continued education, working with my fellow peers and remaining patient with myself. It was not easy everything though takes time especially anything worth really having you have to give it your care, patience and love consistently even when you feel like you might want to give up. I want the ones in my world to know that I left it all on the table and gave every last bit I had for my friends, family, and children.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite spots in Atlanta I would have to say are Krog Street Market, Dish in Chamblee, Zucca Pizzeria- Smyrna and Meatballerz- Prep ATL. I love variety so having favorite places for all my favorite foods is super important these places all are very high on my list delivering the best quality and customer service I have seen throughout the city.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I were to shoutout or recognize anyone it would be the amazing friends, family, and loved ones that have been here along my journey. It has never been an easy one. Long night & days, endless emails, phone calls, some blood sweat and tears as well. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and I’m even more excited for what is in the next chapter of my life…. This feels like the greatest chapter yet!
