We had the good fortune of connecting with Sagi Songbird (Katerenia) Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sagi Songbird (Katerenia), as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I think the most important thing I have done as a parent of impacting my kids way of thinking, is writing a book, and showing them we can all be creators! We can all use our gifts to formulate the world in which we desire to live! I have shown them that the very voices they hear on media and radio can be their own. In singing, because I am too an artist. I have a multitude of positive upbeat songs, which they Love to listen to,, if I may add. I have taught them that the best way to make an imprint on the world , should be in a positive way and in what they love to do most!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Art, I feel, is always in the eye of the beholder! I am art, they way I see it. I love earths colors, the mysteries of being, all the wonderful sounds we have to listen too, the beauty of it all is completely limitless!! I am most proud of my abilities in being to see it. We are not placed on this earth to just be. We are here for an experience, & I feel we should live and feel it to the fullest! How did I get to where I am today, that would take light years to fully explain. I got here by a whole lot of trail and error, to say the least. The road was definitely a long and hard one. I lost my mother at the age of 8, and life was never the same after. I had to fail at a lot of things before I succeeded at anything.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Would most def go down to the heart of Atlanta! Downtown, you can never go wrong there!! I still have unfinished plans of performing at the Apache Cafe!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
