We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosalee Henry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rosalee, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
As a parent, I believe the most important thing I’ve done to impact my children positively is fostering an environment of unconditional love, support, and open communication. Creating a space where my children feel safe to express their thoughts, feelings, and concerns has been crucial to their self-esteem and resilience, helping them navigate life’s challenges with a positive mindset.

What are you most proud of or excited about?
I am incredibly proud of the impact we make on each family we serve throughout their postpartum journey and the noticeable changes that we made in our our clients’ businesses. Seeing home care agencies flourish, improve their services, and expand their reach is deeply rewarding. Additionally, our ‘Work Smarter, Not Harder: Using technology for Business Efficiency’ training program excites me, as it helps industry professionals leverage AI to enhance operational efficiency.
How did you get to where you are today business-wise?
My journey began in 2002 when I transitioned from a banking career to becoming a nanny. This experience revealed a critical need for newborn care services in Atlanta. By 2012, I founded Mothers Helping Hands Atlanta LLC, initially offering postpartum and newborn care on my own. Through hard work and dedication, I expanded the business to over 20 employees within two years.
Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
The journey has not been easy. Financial uncertainties and market changes posed significant challenges. Overcoming these hurdles required strategic pivots, relentless dedication, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Embracing failure as a learning opportunity, staying adaptable, building strong relationships, investing in innovation, and prioritizing self-care were crucial strategies that helped me navigate these challenges.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
Several key lessons have guided me:
Embrace Failure as a Learning Opportunity: Setbacks are inevitable, but each failure provides valuable lessons that can lead to future success.
Stay Adaptable: The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and market needs is essential for long-term success.
Build Strong Relationships: Trust and collaboration with clients, partners, and team members are fundamental to growing a successful business.
Invest in Innovation: Staying ahead of industry trends and integrating new technologies can significantly enhance business operations and competitiveness.
Prioritize Self-Care: Maintaining personal well-being is vital for sustaining the energy and passion needed to drive a business forward.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
My story is rooted in a deep passion for the maternal community, inspired by the strong women in my family and my own experiences as a mother. This passion drives our vision to create a supportive ecosystem for maternal health workers, enabling them to provide the highest quality care to their communities. At Mothers Helping Hands Atlanta, we believe that by supporting those who care for others, we can create a ripple effect of positive change that benefits entire communities.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When I think about the people who have played a pivotal role in my journey, one person stands out distinctly is my second-grade teacher, Ms. Janet Gordon.
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my second-grade teacher from primary school, Janet Gordon. Ms. Gordon was more than just a teacher, she was a guiding light who recognized potential in her students and nurtured it with patience, kindness, and unwavering support.
Ms. Gordon instilled in me a love for learning and a curiosity about the world that has stayed with me throughout my life. Her belief in my abilities gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams and face challenges head-on. She taught me the importance of perseverance, the joy of discovery, and the power of a positive mindset.
Even today, I carry with me the lessons I learned from her. Her dedication to her students and her passion for education have inspired me to give back to my community and to support others in their journeys. Ms. Gordon’s influence is a testament to the profound impact that a dedicated teacher can have on a student’s life.
In addition to Ms. Gordon, I would also like to acknowledge the support of my family, mentors, and colleagues who have been with me every step of the way. Their encouragement, wisdom, and love have been invaluable in helping me achieve my goals and make a positive impact in the maternal and community health sectors.
