We had the good fortune of connecting with Ronnie Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ronnie, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Working in the medical field for about 14 years I decided to change my career into the wine industry. It is very scary starting all over into the unknown but because it is my passion I give it my all to be where I want to be. Going from the medical field to the wine industry is a big career change and very risky. Especially being a black woman I have to work extra hard to show that I can handle whatever is brought my way. The journey is worth every moment cause it makes me stronger.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am so proud of me because starting all over isn’t easy. You have to sacrifice so much to get where you want to be. I’m excited to see my brand along with myself grow. I wanted to show my children that no matter where you are in life or how old you are that does not mean it is too late follow your goals and dreams. It is not an easy journey because your life changes, so does the people around you. You find out who is really for you once you start to elevate. Keep praying and have a strong support system even if that support system is yourself. Keep pushing and never give up. I want the world to know that taking that leap of faith is hard but it’s worth it. Being a woman and a black woman at that has made me work harder to show that regardless of what people may think I work just as hard or more to get where I deserve to be
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Now and days I’m a homebody but we would probably head to a bar for food and drinks. Charleston SC has a lot of hidden gems like the wineries, beaches, restaurants so there’s no one particular spot to point out. It’s best to just go with flow day by day.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First I want to recognize my grandmother who in a dream gave me my vision. Even in heaven her prayers still covers me. Also my mother, children, and brother who are sticking beside me every step of the way.
