We had the good fortune of connecting with Renarda Joy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Renarda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I come from a lineage of wealth builders, spanning three generations from my grandfather to my mom, and I inherited and caught the real estate bug. However, the path into this industry wasn’t paved with guidance; I had to learn and navigate through successes and failures simultaneously.
Entering a predominantly white male industry, I acknowledged the challenges but believed they were not insurmountable. My motivation stemmed from the realization that my decisions today would shape the future for generations to come. I recognized I had a responsibility that was bigger than me.
I aimed to create a playbook and position myself to transfer wealth to the next generation, leading them to more answers than questions. Additionally, I aspired to make a positive impact in my community, empowering it to influence favorable legislations and foster a better education system that includes financial literacy from an early age.
Drawing inspiration from my mom’s journey as a wealth builder, I decided to contribute to bridging the wealth gap by imparting the tools and strategies needed for success in wealth building. My mission is to shrink the intergenerational wealth gap, one family at a time.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business, The Legacy Playbook, is more than just a wealth-building course; it’s a transformative journey for aspiring real estate entrepreneurs. What sets us apart is our commitment to bridging the intergenerational wealth gap, one family at a time.
We provide a comprehensive curriculum that not only teaches the ins and outs of real estate investing but also empowers individuals with the mindset and tools needed for long-lasting success.
What I’m most proud of is the impact we’ve had on our community and the success stories of those who have gone through our program. Witnessing individuals build their real estate portfolios with confidence and strategy is truly fulfilling.
The journey to where I am today wasn’t easy. I faced challenges entering a predominantly white male industry, but I overcame them by leveraging my determination and seeking mentorship to navigate the complexities. The key lessons I’ve learned include the importance of resilience, continuous learning, and the strength in seeking help.
I want the world to know that The Legacy Playbook is not just about making money in real estate; it’s about creating a legacy. Our brand stands for empowerment, education, and making a positive impact. We believe in the transformative power of strategic wealth-building, and our mission is to inspire and equip individuals to achieve lasting success in real estate and beyond.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to my friends and, especially, my family for their unwavering love, support, and encouragement.
Along my journey, I conducted a thorough self-assessment using a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis. Identifying knowledge gaps, I recognized the strength in seeking help rather than viewing it as a sign of weakness.
I had the privilege of working with several mentors who were several steps ahead of me, and their guidance significantly shortened my learning curve.
I want to give a special shoutout to all of mentors and coaches, whose insights and wisdom played a pivotal role in shaping my path. In a world where seeking guidance is often undervalued, their impact on my journey has been invaluable.
Just as one hires a trainer for the gym or dance lessons, seeking mentorship is a testament to a growth mindset, a concept I believe is crucial in any journey toward success.
