We had the good fortune of connecting with Rello XP! and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rello, what do you attribute your success to?
I would say consistency for sure! When you look at a lot of things we choose to do as people, one of the main components is just staying at it. You can’t expect overnight success, fame, genuine love etc. Unless you’re keeping your finger on the pulse and some action behind your words constantly, most things fall to the wayside.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
This road wasn’t easy I’d say, but it’s been smooth for the most part. As an artist (rapper) it really came to me fairly easily, but putting the pieces together to maintain the right mindset to stay at peak performance has been the toughest part. We all have so much going on in life and people just don’t realize how much that can pull you away from your creative zone.
I’ve always been a passionate energetic person. I’d say that alone is what sets me apart from most people. I really put my all, my emotions, my physical being all out there for my work to make its point. And of course it doesn’t hurt I’m extremely gifted with flows, words, concepts. I’m meant for this route!
But along this journey I’ve learned you really don’t have time to NOT be producing something. There’s a never ending cycle of newer trendier artists everyday! You always have to be in a constant state of progression in some way. Always growing, always learning.
If the world can take anything away from what I provide I hope it’s belief. Belief in oneself and your abilitie, belief in your mind, belief in love and being deserving of it. That’s all I try to convey. “You got this, it’s just another day to win!”
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First thing we’d do is grab a smoothie somewhere. Swamp Rabbit Cafe is the move for that!
Maybe hit the VR bar and enjoy some games and some drinks.
Ultimately ending up in a studio somewhere tho, I’m always trying to work or just be surrounded by music/musicians. It’s just what I love to do.
But really, it all depends on who I’m with and what vibe they’re in. I’m a planner, I’ll make something work for us.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my drive and my love for what I do to my family. My mother Angela, my father Richard, my brothers Bernard, Antrone and Devonte. Without having a foundation to grow from I don’t think I’d be as passionate, as loving, as focused or anything.
Shouts out to my manager Chris for believing in me and continuing this trek on my journey. Genuine support is hard to come by especially when people really don’t want anything from you but to see you succeed.
And last but not least I’d like to think the most high, the master engineer, the divine for writing this story. As long as I have belief I can’t be brought down or distracted from my ultimate goals of supporting my people anyway I can.
