We had the good fortune of connecting with Reagan Mclean and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Reagan, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued a creative path because art has always been my passion. I express my emotions through creating so that others can feel what I feel and know that they are not alone in whatever they are going through. Growing up I always loved music and music loved me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I always loved music growing up. As a kid I was the family entertainer the life of the party, literal vibes to this day anywhere I go. I would often times freestyle to instrumentals or write my own lyrics to them. For years I wanted to make my own music but I did not have the resources to do so until I went to college and made my first song in a college dorm. (Major shoutout to John!) Once I dropped that first track it inspired me to make more and more and more and wait for it…more! Whenever I am down I write whenever I am up I write whatever I feel I write even if I don’t have an instrumental to write to I just picture a beat in my head and just go with it. Making music is not always easy as it looks because then there’s every artists worst nightmare…CREATIVE BLOCK (experiencing one right now because of Covid). Another reason why it isn’t as easy as it looks is trusting engineers and other creatives in the world so many people are so grimy these days and only look out for themselves but I never really let it stop me I keep going I MOVE. It takes a lot to trust folks and I hate that because at the end of the day why can’t you just be honest? The people need honesty the people need us to uplift them why move grimy? So a lesson I learn really is to not be so trusting and just stick to the folks I know. What sets me apart from the rest is that I don’t really do much really lol sounds so vague I know but I’m so honest, I don’t follow the crowd I tend to STAND OUT and it SHOWS, that’s another thing right now man EVERYONE DOES THE SAME THING…SOUNDS THE SAME, MOVES THE SAME it’s like where’s the originality these days? I tend to just stay to myself a lot and do my own thing like they say back home and ting don’t watch crowd don’t medz people just MOVE…WE MOVE! (I grew up in Jamaica, BIG UP HOME!) Following the trends was never really my thing I like to set the trend you feel me?

Right now my story is on hold though because I caught Covid and the after effects are horrible! But like I said man WE MOVE STILL!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
No lie I don’t really know many fun places but luckily there’s word of mouth and google haha! Knowing my bestfriend we’d probably discover new spots together and just vibe from there truly! One place I genuinely do like though is the aquarium because I really love dolphins I’d literally go every time just to see the dolphins I’ve even considered working there at one time in my life just to be with the dolphins lol (I really love Dolphins no kizzy!) Anywhere that has great energy and vibes we out!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my friend and photographer Joshua Smith. He helped me bring to life my creative ideas simply by capturing every moment of it, really dope with the camera! It’s never a dull moment when we are together just creativity, positivity and excitement. Thank you so much Josh! Great Vibes! That’s my boy for life!
