We had the good fortune of connecting with Raquel Ravenell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raquel, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Balance is key and helps me maintain my sanity. Over the years, I’ve made progress but I am still learning how to balance life. It’s important to me to balance my work and home life; even within those parts there needs to be balance. I may not always get it right but my intentions are to MAKE time for myself, family, friends, my work, creativity, or making time to just be. There’s an emphasis on “make” because I used to make excuses and tell myself, I didn’t have time or I was fearful and didn’t make time. Sometimes, that would result in anxiety, depression and procrastination. In reality, we have the power to make time for the things that are important to us.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have my hands in many forms of art; I’m a writer, jewelry designer & wire worker with an online business called “RAVENELL”. I am also Co-founder of Whiskey and Rosemary; a lifestyle brand that focuses on craft cocktails, creative content, food, travel, experiences and community. My story is what sets me a part. I’ve been through a lot of ups and downs on this journey. I moved from my hometown Charleston, SC at 18 and have been making a way for myself ever since. I believe, that is what I’m most proud of; I am still going, still trying new things and I haven’t given up on myself. I’ve had to unlearn and redefine many times. It hasn’t always been easy but I’m grateful for every step. Every day is a blessing and a chance to be better than I was yesterday.
