Meet Raheem Jackson | Photographer & Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Raheem Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raheem, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to pursue a more artistic/creative career because I’ve always had a very creative mindset and artistic mind but didn’t really have anyway to display it. I couldn’t draw or paint but I found I’m able to showcase my mindset and process with art through photos and videos. So I decided to take the road of becoming a photographer/filmmaker as a way to showcase everything. I use music and emotions for my main inspiration towards my work. I’m a firm believer in “Music makes the world go around”. I believe music has a life and soul of its own and it’s been around for many many decades uniting people with its beautiful and impactful sounds.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My photography artwork is honestly just a way to express emotions that someone may have or feel and I connect the vision with the music I choose to try to blend it together in a harmonious flow. It’s also a “story” not just any story it’s your story. What I mean is that I want you to paint ur own narrative and feelings when u see the work I create and however u view it should be ur own story.
What sets me apart from others is a difficult question, art is a reflection of ones self so it would honestly just be you’re viewing my feelings, emotions and love and hard work all on the canvas in front of you. Well I guess the photo in front of you.
I’m definitely most proud of how far I’ve come and how much Ive grown and will continue to grow. I have such huge inspirations set in stone for myself and I don’t wanna stop until I can successfully achieve all of them.
I honestly wouldn’t have gotten as far as I’ve gotten without the help of my friends and everyone I’ve met along the way to lend a helping hand. They are one of the biggest reasons I’m able to do what I’m doing. Also the major love and support from my followers online and the kind messages.
I wouldn’t say there was many challenges except feeling scared or nervous about not being able to deliver something I’m happy with and the other person is satisfied with.
I’ve learned never stop doing what you love. Never give into fear of not being “good enough” cause then you’ll never be good enough. Don’t worry about being the best, focus on what’s in front of you and the rest will fall into place.
I want the world to know. Peace, love and positivity until the end. I hope one day I’ll be able to share my love, story’s and artwork to everyone around the world one day. I’m thanking god everyday for his grace of watching over me and guiding me along the way when things get hard or I get lose. Every time I’m at my end he pulls me back up and tells me there’s still more to do. So I go and do it and I hope everyone reaches their dreams and goals as well. God bless and all love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a fun question here lol, so I’d definitely be out and about visiting all the fun outdoor spots and little neat areas and food spots since there are a LOT of them. Especially food in Buffalo.
The places I would choose to go would be definitely Downtown for one and walk around to show them all the places. Riverside is definitely another one, drag them over to Buffalo Harbor state park next because the view is absolutely magical, especially at golden hour.
Will definitely be hitting up a couple bars, the ones downtown or on Allen town are pretty good just gotta be careful of all the
Rowdy folks lol.
I’m mainly a homebody but when I do have the chance to go out I like to see new things or be in nature

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This one is a bit harder to do because there is just so many folks who has been by my side and helping me every single last step of the way. I’m giving a shout out to 2 people and that would be DatKidDeuce and Storm Young. I consider both family and 2 people who would have ur back when things get heavy and really need a helping hand. I’ve been friends with Storm for 20 years now and he’s been the biggest help ever. Everytime I needed a model or something video wise to shoot he’d was always on call and ready to help out with anything I needed. Always willing to take the time out and either come with me on shoots if I needed the extra help or moral support as well. Deuce has been the biggest help ever as well tho, he’s always pushing me to be the best version of myself and helping out with my work whenever he’s in town. We always have something to do or go out and work on. Be it photos or videos, he’s also on go when it comes to getting me connected to new people or just helping make new contacts with people. I’m still a little antisocial but he’s the opposite and it helps MASSIVELY since he’s always hyping my work and telling people to tap in.
