We had the good fortune of connecting with Priscilla Burrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Priscilla, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
The most important habit for my success is being a early bird. My morning routine has been essential to me starting on course and getting things done. Every day I wake at 5:30am I pray, read news articles and go for a morning walk or bike ride to reflect. These habits allow me to brainstorm ideas, research products, and create marketing strategies. Building a successful brand starts with consistency in your day to day habits because it shows focus and dedication which are keys to success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Once I graduated from culinary school I knew this was only the beginning of expressing my passion for food. My company Pricise Dining has had its share of challenges thanks to the pandemic but I make sure I engaged my customers by posting home meals and desserts on social media.   I have began infusion cooking.   My home state of Illinois has legalize recreational this year so I have been studying the use of CBD Hemp and THC in food products so I can open a bakery cafe offering infusion products.  This has kept me really busy because I am planning and designing a line of CBD/Hemp products to be manufactured for my brand Exotic Kitchen.  So I used the time during the course of this pandemic to network and gain meaningful resources so my brand will continue to grow. Being able to combine my culinary skills with the medical benefits of infusion excites me and to know that I am helping so many people is the icing on the cake.  Professionally its a big step that keeps me very busy because the field is new to me and it’s so much to learn but things have come together nicely.  There are not many minorities or even women in the industry but that adds fuel to the fire in me as I push to be licensed and launched by end of next year.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The most fun place to check out in my opinion is the Kirkwood and Little Five Points area. I love riding the electric bird scooters in the area and taking pictures of the graffiti on the walls. Their are little cafes to eat at and the architecture in the area is amazing. If you looking for somewhere to meet nice people from all walks of life and take fun pictures in the process that is the place to go.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my hometown East St Louis, Illinois who is always encouraging me and supporting my vision. The city of champions is the most loyal and best customers a person can ask for. The love I feel when I do a popup sales/restaurant in the city is truly a blessing and the feedback is amazing.  Shoutout to small circle of friends who is fierce and challenging me. They say iron sharpens iron and I am glad to be surrounded by these warrior entrepreneurs that can relate and pour into me on those rough days. They are awesome people and I’m grateful for our bonds.  We all work hard and I’m proud of them and all they have accomplished thus far.  It’s only the beginning of the manifestation that’s happening in our lives so remember to KEEP GRINDING and FINISH STRONG.
