We had the good fortune of connecting with Paulette Harper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paulette, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
One of my favorite quotes that has resonated in my life is “The hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life” by Zig Ziglar.

I found it to be very encouraging while facing some of my own personal challenges. This quote has been one of my anchors each time I’ve experienced something that has been difficult in my life.

Hard times aren’t something we can avoid. Changing the narrative on how we see them and respond is vital if we want to move past where we currently are.

I’ve come to realize that even in the hardest times, opportunities have presented themselves. My greatest moments in life haven’t been when things were going well, but while experiencing times when life nearly crushed me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I published my first book, I had no idea that coaching would be the conduit that helped other aspiring authors write their books.

As a certified story coach, I specialize in assisting faith-based leaders, coaches, and entrepreneurs––who are first-time authors––with the process on how to self-publish books, so they can turn their stories into a thriving business.

Writing my first book was birthed through my personal struggles with emotional trauma while going through a divorce.

Now, after receiving my breakthroughs in life, I partner with women who are broken and looking for solutions!

I teach women how to shift their perspective on crises, push past barriers, and discover their purpose, so they become the best version of themselves.

My superpower is I’ve committed my life to helping women who have experienced emotional trauma. Therefore, I teach them how to change the narrative and turn those painful experiences into impactful, transformational stories.

As a result of my success, I’ve launched an online school called One Story University. Inside the university is my 90-Day program Unlock the Writer in You. Those that enroll, do the work, and complete the program will walk away knowing how to publish their own books, in addition to learning how to build a business around their books.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Anyone coming to visit I’d be sure to take them to beautiful Napa Valley. It is known for hundreds of hillside vineyards in the Napa Valley wine region. Those who don’t drink can still enjoy hot spots like The Blue Note, where you can enjoy listening to jazz. Downtown Napa, and other surrounding areas, are full of restaurants and shops.

Our next ride would take us down the coast to visit Carmel and Monterey. The 17-Mile Drive would be our first stop. It is a scenic road through Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula, much of which hugs the Pacific coastline and passes famous golf courses, beautiful mansions, and scenic attractions.

Of course, you couldn’t come to Monterey without visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutouts go to my coaches who have been instrumental to the success in my personal life and business.

They have pulled creativity out of me, even when I didn’t realize I had it, and pushed me to grow and develop as an entrepreneur. Their wisdom, guidance, and council will always be appreciated.
