We had the good fortune of connecting with Noah Powell and Mecca Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noah, Mecca, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The original thought process behind starting our own business derives from the fact that we’ve always wanted to be our own bosses. Further more, the idea of working day and night to make somebody else’s dreams and goals happen never really resonated with either one of us. We wanted to walk our own path and use our resources, skills, and knowledge to help bring people together all around the world.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing we are most proud of is officially obtaining our LLC because it was the first step towards creating the foundation for our business and brand. However, before we could accomplish that, we poured all of our energy into creating a solid mastermind. One of us (Noah) worked to artistically develop as well as network in the music industry while the other (Mecca) worked to develop a strong business skillset and efficient communication tactics. This journey certainly has not been easy, but the consistent dedication and motivation to succeed has allowed us to overcome all obstacles. Out of all of the lessons that we’ve learned, the most important one is staying disciplined. You don’t always feel like doing what you have to do, but discipline allows you to push through and achieve your goals. We want people to know that they can do anything they set their minds out to do and our brand reflects that.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In our hometown of Cleveland, OH some of the best spots are Cedar Point, Edgewater, Medusa, The Agora and the House of Blues among many others. Some of the Signature foods you have to get are Angelamia’s pizza, polish boys, and corned beef from Slyman’s. Some of the best places to visit are the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, a Cavs, Browns, or Indians game, and the Botanical Gardens.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to give a shoutout to all of our friends/family who’ve been there for the journey. While there are too many names to give, we would like to give a special shoutout to our grandmother Angela Lewis as well as Noah’s older brother Michael Powell. Both are no longer here with us, but we know that they continue to watch over us and guide us in the right direction.
