We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki Dotson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikki, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I think the most important thing I’ve done as a parent is follow my dream of becoming a business owner and open my business. I’m teaching my daughter to be multi-faceted. I’m showing her how to take your passion, creativity and turn it into a reality. A way to thrive while reaping emotional and financial rewards. She plays an integral role in The Majestic Cabinet LLC from helping me name products, making products, and designing marketing campaigns.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called The Majestic Cabinet LLC and I make soaps, bath bombs, bath truffles, salves, etc. What makes me different is each product on my site is handcrafted with love, intention, and nothing but the best ingredients to promote healthy skin, and healing to those who use them. I got to where I am today because of faith, my passion, my drive for creating, and those who have supported my vision. Like anything in life, there will be some challenges. I wouldn’t necessarily call them; I would call them lessons. I have learned a lot from these lessons in the many forms they took on. Overall, everything has worked out it my favor. I’m excited for 2022 as I will be launching new products, such as bath salts, candles, etc. Focusing more on my monthly newsletters that will have self-care/ self-love checklist each month. I want the world to know that this started as my passion project and has been a healing/spiritual journey ever since. My goal is to make bath time/ shower time into a selfcare experience and remind everyone that self-care is very important and is not one size fits all. Self-care could be as simple as a bath, but when you add herbs, candles, prayers, and affirmations it can turn into an experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to a nice dinner at The Consulate in midtown which has cool interior design and a worldwide menu with dishes from different countries. Then I would take them to the beltline to get ice cream and walk around because it goes throughout the city and look at artwork done by the local artists. I would also take them to Wolfe Mountain Winery in the North Georgia mountains to get a breath-taking view of the mountains while trying all the local wines. Lastly, I would take them downtown to ride the Ferris wheel located right next to the Coca Cola factory, then go to The High Art Museum to see what cool exhibits they have at the time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would first like to thank GOD, my family, friends, and spiritual mentors Joseph Olivia/ Botanica Candles and More. From the beginning everyone that I have encountered has been very supportive. They have worked with me, purchased my products, given me honest feedback, and really helped me grow as an individual and business owner. My family has had my back through the whole process of me starting my business and has encouraged me every step of the way to my success. My Godparents Joseph and Erica have been tremendously helpful being business owners as well and guiding me to success with their knowledge and support. As this has not only been a business journey but a spiritual awakening and healing journey as well.
