We had the good fortune of connecting with Nichole Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nichole, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a single mother raising a child on the Autism Spectrum I realized what humble and sacrifice meant! Having a clear understand of my child’s specific needs and not comparing them to others in the same situation is what made me do right by her. Making her my number one priority is what was best for her. My parents have been the best support for both of us because they raised me and I learned hard work, sacrifice, humility and love from them!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Over the years I have been able to watch other special needs moms struggle so much with advocating for their children and I wanted to be of some assistance by providing consultation at a low price to mothers.

As a singer (Ablyss Gillespie is my performance name) I put out a song entitled Autism Moms Rock to continue motivate and encourage Mother’s!

As a certified yoga instructor who suffers from lower back pain I decided to learn the techniques of stretching! I do one on one classes with clients who are interested in continuing on a healthy journey!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The most exciting places to go would be the Museum District and downtown area. The restaurants in the museum district vary from vegan dishes, to traditional tacos and of course requisite cuisines! Many Autism Moms travel to our city to observe for a new place to live while wanting the awesome
