We had the good fortune of connecting with Ngo Bolingo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ngo, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursue an art career because I am art, I live in art, and discovering new things about myself and the world is what motivates me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I created Ngo Bolingo for many reasons. The main reason is to create a bridge to abundance for my family and future family. I also created this brand because this is something that I love and always wanted to do. It’s my favorite way to create and the fact that I get to share what I create with the world is a dream come true.

What sets us apart is that we are a ready-to-wear, day-to-day fashion brand with great quality, great style, and with exclusive fashion, at a great price.

I am most proud of the storytelling in each print. Each symbol is infused with a deep meaning, usually guiding you inside yourself.

I got to where I am today by not giving up. I used to do all the sewing with my last brand called Nigerian Hippie and I got burned out and thought I should go back to a 9 to 5 and quickly I reminded myself that it wasn’t for me. My mind is a creating machine and I will blow if I can’t get my creations out and see them in form.

It was not easy, I grew up poor and sometimes I would forget that I too deserved the best. When you remember you deserve to live your dreams, the button for giving up disappears and no longer exists, the only option is to just keep going, never give up and believe in your creation.

I want the world to know that the key to Heaven on Earth is in our hands. It’s a choice and if all humans choose to love others and to love ourselves, no matter the differences, the world would drastically change. This is the journey we are currently on.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate my shoutout to Mother Earth. The #1 muse of all time. She is the best, ever-evolving piece of art, she helps bring my creations to life. She motivates me just by simply being.
