Meet Neo Gold | Polymath with a high proficiency in Poetry, Luxury Brand Becoming, Bag (Money) Therapy, Consulting and Processing Life

We had the good fortune of connecting with Neo Gold and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Neo, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
That’s a perplexing question… so directly speaking? My answer is: if you’re having issues with your eyes then you should go to the eye doctor. There’s a lot of unconventional pieces of advice that I disagree with, but that’s the first. You should go to the eye doctor often! Everyday if you can. I know that sounds crazy, but I have to preface by saying this. I believe that everything we receive from this world we have to figure out how to process and filter out ourselves. As we know filters/processors can get clogged and begin to cause issues that may not actually exist if the filter/processor is changed. Hell sometimes may need to upgrade the whole system and move from an outdated model to a multi-filtering system/processing system. With that in mind a ‘person’ is a walking filter/processor and sometimes they may not know they need a check in, but they do. In this life it’s a matter of how YOU as an individual are viewing a thing. Perception is everything!!! However, if you wait until you’re having issues with your eyes to properly take care of them or if you don’t know how often your filter gets clogged then you’re in pretty bad shape. Go get a check-up and make sure that what you’re seeing is how/what you’re meant to be seeing. I mean this more spiritually than all things though. Think outside the box (with what I’m saying),but truly realize that with anything there is no box at all. Go get your prescription checked. You could be looking through rose tinted glasses you picked up off the street or sun shades that make you only look through darkness. New lenses and clearer vision give you the outlook on life that works for you. This is how you let your environment become a product of you instead of the lesser, and that only happens when you’re seeing from the right lenses. Sooo… go get your eyes checked and stop waiting for a signal of something being wrong!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
All right so… tell you about me all right I’m born and raised in Atlanta obviously people have their specifics on what Atlanta means for them but for me East Atlanta I was raised on Glenwood, East Lake Blvd, off Snapfinger road, Panola, a little around Lithonia, Stone Mountain and in Marietta Georgia, Delk, Franklin Road. I lived like my parents were in the military, but they weren’t! The answer if you ask me fr though is ATL. Specify how you choose. Now was it easy to get where I am? Yes. Was it easy to become who I am? No.
You asked me to say something that sets me apart from others and to be honest.. it would be my perception and resilience. I see things very different from other people because I’ve spent time doing things that other people haven’t. Homeless attending live classes and sessions with millions. Traveling state to state for the sake of knowledge with $100 and a dream. Being the change regardless of the circumstances. Now I recognize that everyone is a master in their own right/field. However, I’ve been studying the subconscious mind and self for years. My professions on the surface are of me learning about financial literacy actively since I was 19 years old, I’ve written poetry since I could write and began studying language before that. I have also been in Corporate America and sales since I was 15 years old including e-commerce, tech, retail, non-profit and services. I’ve done everything from grassroots within community organization to white glove events like TedTalk. Particularly in regard to events and theater I’ve done all things within Production since I was 14 years old. I was born a hustler but really I am proficient and my level of proficiency doesn’t look like anyone else’s. I was born to win. Mom from the STREETS of Compton and my dad the same coming from Brooklyn. Being born in Atlanta— I was born to overcome all adversity. I’ve become friends with adversity in an interesting way now. I tend to spend my time learning and soaking in information until I can teach it back to someone in my sleep. Even when I was a kid I was super a nerd. I just enjoyed partying too. I’m usually listening to audios or doing random diets/fast or something random like learning Hebrew (lol). I have a natural curiosity about everything. I notice I tend to purposely put myself in adverse situations, so that I can become better at getting out of them like a 5 minute cold plunge, doing 5 miles at the gym at 4 am and taking a bath at 2pm before a meeting at 4pm. I also practice yoga and randomly binging something weird like bug videos, interesting facts, how tos, conferences or some random tv show. I’ve made my lifestyle self-care and knowledge to the fullest extent and I’ve built those things into my routine. From my Youtube to playing Fortnite to writing on my white board in my room to journaling– I learn from everything and alchemize it into more to teach/become myself. I recognize that I’m a channel for information and that there’s a large role that I have to play in the next portion of what’s happening in the world we are in. I think that a lot of people claim to be one particular being or connect only to one particular profession, but I am multifaceted and can’t limit what’s unlimited. Sometimes it shocks me because I only have a sliver of insight into who I’ll be in the future.
Okay, so to your next question…how did I get where I am today professionally? Well that’s been a lot of mental, spiritual and physical work/movement. I dealt with the things that most people are afraid to deal with and some things that most people have never dealt with at all. I overcame extreme adversity as a child and that plays a large factor into why I strive for more. I found things that worked for me to survive and now I’m finding things to live and be instead. My brand is me, Neo Gold and the other is Bag Therapy, an initiative around (W)Holistic Financial Wellness practices for the Afro-Indigenous community and the like. We don’t know that our spiritual issues and childhood traumas show up on our bank statements too. Neo Gold is just a polymathic master consultant that has had her work internationally showcased- the first time with the EBook “Poems” hitting 11 countries in sales, the second with speaking virtually to 7 countries and the third being featured in Vogue. As a polymath, I do a bunch of shit and develop me. I fine sharpen skills to make me a better person and consultant. That’s what determines success for me– how much I have developed within. I love doing it and learning how to do it better. I’m the type to run a mile as many times as I can just to see how I can perfectly run the mile with my breath control, strides, time etc.
I love being skilled in certain things like what I’ve listed before: Luxury Brand Becoming, Sales, being The Bag Therapist and consulting with people and businesses. Neo Gold the name is who I have cultivated. Neo the one that recognizes the next new currencies, resources, brands and more. I recognize valuable assets before others and their capabilities because I have developed lenses that encompass having both a business eye and creative eye fine tuned for development. Refining has been something I’ve mastered within Sales and sourcing issues within my clients. My focus and specialty are KPIs, so I start by seeing what was given to me and making better than what was expected to be given back. Better processes and better questions yield better results. Even when I was a kid and we didn’t have food in the house I served my family meals like Gordon Ramsey. I can make something out of anything however I hold myself to many standards and after some time I recognized that people didn’t have to be any of my standards. And that’s when my work started to really stand out. I didn’t have to be understood by people to live my life, to live in my life or in my body and be my peace.
What do I want the world to know? That everything is a scam if you’re Still Confused About Money– money is a construct. Abundance is within and what you choose to do with yours determines everything. Overcoming isn’t a singular thing, but society has made it become that way. Society itself is a construct and all things can be deconstructed especially if to find clarity. Your community to the left and right of you are the right people to help you get to your destination– don’t be scammed out of that truth. Go out and find things in this world to help and aid you; when you recognize that you are a world to be explored too, this world will begin to wield your vision. I offer my clients a multitude of tools to be able to embark upon their own journeys and choose what to equip their avatar with while also letting them come to a clearer innerstanding of the special gifts that they were born with. We unlock together by realizing that doors have never been locked.
Andddd to the final question, what excites me about what’s next? Everything. I am excited about the events I have coming up, the new contracts, new partnerships, new clients, new impact and more celebrations in my day to day life. I’m also excited to simply evolve. I’m proud that I have given awareness to the individuals I’ve encountered– awareness of self and awareness of being. I have worked for large scale companies and also just everyday people…the one thing that I find consistent is that everyone and their role is needed. If you decide to be an acrobat, an evangelist or sell candy–you still impact someone’ s life. You, not just your profession.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First of all this question is a bit (OPP)ortunist. I’m gonna answer without telling on myself if that’s ok. Sooo.. In Atlanta? I love to be at some type of creative event– like where they have an activity. Let’s go play games at an arcade or in a park or something. I like to makeshift fun. Call it what you will, but I will bring a bag of goodies and find a great park, lake, river or festival to chill at. In my bag I may have an assortment of things like: playing cards, uno, yoga mats, journals, sage, affirmation decks, some kind of books, print offs of things I’m studying, a sound bowl, herbs, paint supplies, and tbh it all just depends on how long we will be there, if we have a cart and how big my bag is! Outside of those things I love to thrift, so I would try places with them in my hometown that I’ve never been to and see what random things we can find on Eventbrite. My people live for adventure and experiences. My week with them would be filled with random road trips within an hour of downtown Atlanta (since you said the city), art sessions with music on random rooftops to see the city and get a bit above the movement, dope events that leave real impact and trying food places we found online at 2am. With my friends they just flow with me and find fun within that, but for the most part dancing around a lake to Old School R&B and a bunch of food or just simply a cup of tea/smoothie and not talking at all. We’d just vibe out and pour into people as we go.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God and me first, Sharon Draper (famous author) second because she told me in middle school I’d never make money just writing books and that made me pursue everything I desired instead of just one thing. Thirdly… honestly everybody that I’ve ever met, interacted with, like their post on Instagram, listened to their music…anything I dedicate this to everybody because I wouldn’t be me if you weren’t being you. If you didn’t show up in the place that you were meant to be at the time that you were meant to be there or you did show up at the time that you were meant to be there–your role in this web/ecosystem of life is seen and honored. I literally learn from every single person…I truly take them as a moment and a memory in that moment. I let myself truly grow and become from all of my interactions, so yeah shout out to everybody for playing your part, for showing up, showing out and to those who didn’t show up or couldn’t show up too. Through it all–they’ve helped me every step of the way realize me more and more. I’ve been able to be a witness to them standing in who they are that’s why I’m able to be something that’s able to be witnessed right now.
