We had the good fortune of connecting with Nadya Bullett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nadya, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I started my company back in 2015 and it was booming because one I was still bartending at Pappadeaux and thats where I received a lot of my clientele from. But as the years have went by I have changed careers multiple times since 2015 and my business has been a roller coaster since then. Getting older there so much that comes with being an adult, getting married, having kids etc. And sometimes your priorities change and your not able to keep your business as number 1. I can honestly say I’ve wanted to give up multiple times but everytime I decide to do that something appears in my email box or my DM. Its like the brand that was created for me says I can’t let go or give up on its apart of me now. So I say all of this to say, Don’t ever give up! Keep going! You will have a lot obstacles but if you stay consistent all your hard work will pay off.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Right now I’m rebranding my company. Covid 19 has definitely changed my mindset when it comes to my business. I want to be more on the retail side of my business so I have a couple of projects I’m working on right now. I’m currently a hygiene assistant as well and plan on going to Hygiene School in the near future. I always believe on having multiple streams of income and I love dentistry! I want the world to know that Tipsy Tutor has been out for a while but she’s coming back full force! Watch out for her in the next couple of months. The one thing about her she is a warrior so nothing will stop her!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friends were coming into town I would say we could go off Peters Street and go to a couple of art shows and then end the night at this black owned bar called Parlor. The drinks are creative and also really good.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Her name is Saja Walton. Without her The Tipsy Tutor wouldn’t even be here!
