We had the good fortune of connecting with Mwabi Murdock and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mwabi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Juiced with Love was born from the pandemic and a way to stay healthy. I’ve always known that fruits and vegetables are immune boosters and grew very concerned that this very important information wasn’t being broadcasted to the masses in such an uncertain time. There was so much information being given to us on how many people were getting COVD-19, the death count, but nothing about how to prevent it as far as food went. I remember at the start of the pandemic when it was a state of panic and shelves were being emptied out, I joked around on social media that I wasn’t worried because nobody was going to empty out the produce section and it saddened me that I was right. I experimented with making juices for myself and family and before long people starting asking for juices. My partner helped me order bottles, we made labels, a logo, registered our business, got a website, social media pages and here we are on our way to year 2 of the business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Love is at the core of my business, every fruit and vegetable is picked out, cut up, and made into juice with love. My juice is made strictly with fruits and vegetables only; no preservatives or water is added and is nutrient packed. Im very proud that I have found a way to not compromise that from the beginning by storing the juice in glass bottles to preserve its freshness. I’ve shied away from entrepreneurship for all of my life. I was born into an entrepreneur family and watching my father, brother and sisters always on for their businesses was not appealing to me because I liked stability. Jumping into entrepreneurship has been both exciting and challenging. Exciting because of how rewarding it is to produce a juice that is not only healing, but also very delicious. Getting testimonials from people who took immunity shots in the midst of their covid battle and it made them feel better, taking a beet juice after surgery and it speeding up the recovery makes me feel like I’m fulfilling my purpose and that feeling can’t be bought. Challenging because finding a balance and not feeling overwhelmed has been my goal and year 1 was definitely a time to work the kinks out and not feel like constantly balancing myself across a tightrope.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is such a fun city and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. I’m an outdoor girl at my core so being outside is my go-to. I love visiting Waterfalls – Roswell Mill and Amicola are my favorites. Walking the Beltline and taking in the sights is another favorite and climbing Stone Mountain or running the 5 miles around it makes me happy. I love to hang out at The Ivy Showroom to get my fashion fix. Desta Ethiopian Restaurant, World Taste, Del Frisco’s Grille, Roc South, Taste on Lennox, and The Select are some of my favorite restaurants. Little Five Points just makes me happy, the culture, the people, the ambiance is so Atlanta to me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My love and my family have been so supportive in this business venture. My love is an excellent salesman and marketing is his gift, he is constantly telling everyone about Juiced With Love. My sons, sister and brother tell all their friends about my business and makes me so proud.
