We had the good fortune of connecting with Murcialago and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Murcialago, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Since a child I’ve always been into art and music. Now, I haven’t drawn anything in years but my hands still get pretty damn active due to music creation. I don’t know, it’s just something about being able to sit back and look at or listen to something that you created that gives me sort of a rush! I started out as a rapper but decided to dive into music production because I figured who knows what I’d want to rap to better than ME!?! This journey has taken me many places and I’ve been able to piece together so much inspiration from different surroundings and people! The life of a creative can be a little crazy because not everyone gets it at first and some never get it at all… Well, that’s until you make it. Then it’s “We knew you could do it” lol!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a producer/writer hailing from Rockland County NY but now residing in ATL. I come from a “boom bap” musical background being from New York so my goal was always to maintain my roots while blending in what’s hot and trendy! I moved from NY to ATL in 2014 in hopes of seriously pursuing a career in music production. Since then I’ve kept working and meeting different circles which has opened the door for me to work with people like Benny The Butcher, Cassidy, and Sound Oracle (Timbalands Sound Designer) just to name a few! You gotta understand that this is definitely a business so you have to take time out to get all those things in order as well. It’s not the most fun part of the job, but it’s how the bills get paid, lol. It’s all about fostering genuine relationships with people and doing what you say you will do. Credibility is everything in this game! Keep a good face card and things get a little easier! My story is really just beginning so I hope you guys stay tuned in and keep me company a long this wild and crazy ride!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well one thing about the city of Atlanta is there is always something going on. Plenty of food to choose from but you definitely need to hit up Gus’s Fried Chicken. Then might have to swing by the Trap Museum for a few flicks. You could hit up one the many cool Daiquiri bars or one of the day parties that take place most weekends. Sundays are always good for brunch in ATL. So in conclusion, if you’re hanging with me, expect to eat, drink, vibe and GO TO THE STUDIO!!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shout out to ALL THE CREATIVES around the world. I know how lonely this road can be. People may not understand the sacrifices we make or the time we truly put in to give the world what we consider our best! Our brains are on constant “GO MODE” because we understand that “keeping it coming” is part of the process. This is definitely hard work so for that I say I salute you all and wish us all nothing but the best!
