Hi Monique “Mo”, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking is all that entrepreneurship is in essence. It’s you making up your mind to step out on faith and take that risk of not even knowing how everything will work out, but believing that it will. Risk taking has played a MAJOR part in my life/career because sometimes I’m just not sure of how things will work out, but I do know that I am going to grind to make it happen, so either way I’m winning! I wouldn’t be where I am today and making the strides that I am with my business if I hadn’t taken a risk… and that risk was believing that I was just as good as the next guy/girl if not better and that I possess something that the world needs. To know me you have to experience me! I love the impact I make on lives!

What should our readers know about your business?
Wow, that’s a pretty loaded question… but! What I am most excited about is the upcoming connections and ventures for 2022. I have worked so hard to get to where I am today and I am still growing but I have finally made some connections I’ve been wanting to make for years, so I’m definitely pumped up! It’s been a tough road for me from Day 1. Think about it? This field is male-dominated in essence. Here I am… a black, female in Birmingham, Al, rocking a mohawk, making moves and rubbing elbows with some very well-known entrepreneurs and philanthropist to take my brand where I want it to go! If there’s one lesson I have learned along the way it is- To not listen to the naysayers. I got a lot of questions along the way and remarks about my career and what I want to do and how it’s not going to boom or this or that….but God had other plans! And the main thing I want the world to know about me, my brand, my story? Is that you’re looking at someone who started from nothing but a dream that is now becoming a reality and that I would’ve never done it without God. Hence, my business motto: God, Grind, Go Time. Because I will always put Him first in everything I do, then I’m going to grind it out and do what I can in my own strength and might, and then when that moment or time presents itself, it’s going to be go time! Time for me to show the world why they should rock with Mo!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Birmingham, AL is lowkey a pretty cool place. You just have to know where to go! Now while I’m such a introvert at heart, I love to have a good time with my friends or family. I love trying out different restaurants and bars pretty much every weekend! But, women good places to go visit to hang out would be the Humidor Room, Paper Doll, Char Bar No. 7, Bar Sebastian, etc. Now food spots I love would be Flemings, Firebirds, Vino, Chuck’s, to name a few. I like sports bars and grills too- my favorite is Walk-ons! But, I like to do a lot sightseeing and road trips too so I wouldn’t know much about the nightlife here, but there’s a lot of new stuff coming to Birmingham!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom! She has been what I would call a “silent assassin” for me throughout my career because although she can’t always be at every event, every moment… I know that she’s going to text me an encouraging word or be praying for my success. She’s my ride or die for sure and to see her strength and determination throughout the years as a mother and mentor to many other kids that may have looked up to her as well is what motivated me to want to be just that & more…. an inspiration!
