We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique Gee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monique, why did you pursue a creative career?
Honestly I started my business I got tired of purchasing products that dried my skin out and the other products were not all natural!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work is committed to creating all natural products for the skin, home and office to live a chemical free lifestyle. What sets me and my business from others is a lot of companies use the word natural but that is not always case. So when it comes to me and my business we do not use any chemicals, preservatives, dyes or sulfates. Yes, we do create scented products but we only use essential oils to create them. Hard work , determination , sacrifice, support and lots a prayer. None of this journey has been easy. But it has all been worth it, building a business from the ground up with no capital is hard but it has made me responsible for something and proud to say I actually have something to call my own that others love. I have learned that nothing worth it comes easy and that the saying Rome wasn’t built in a day is very true! What I want the world to know is whatever you want you can have as long as you work hard! My brand and story is like the Rose that grew from Concrete. It was a struggle to build and sometimes it still is but as long as you keep going anything is possible.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
The aquarium would be a great day trip for Sunday grab some brunch at Escobar Atlanta make sure to get the bottomless mimosas and of course call a Lyft when it’s time to go. Monday we could head over to the King Center , then walk around the corner to Cafe Circa for food, drinks and a little socializing. Tuesday we could do Taco Tuesday’s at Red Pepper Taqueria $2 tacos all and night . Hopefully it’s the season for Wine down Wednesday because that would be the perfect place to take a friend on Wednesday down to Centennial park for live music and tons of fun. Thursday we could hit Atlantic Station to get some shopping in and then go to my favorite museum the High Art they always seem to have an awesome exhibit. Friday I wouldn’t be any where else but the Castleberry Hill art stroll full of best vendors in Atlanta selling anything you can think of. Saturday I think I would leave open to maybe just see would will come up.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would have to Shout out Alex Armstrong! She is a celebrity stylist, she owns and operates Alex Armstrong Art & Event Spaces in the Castleberry Hill area of Atlanta . Alex has played a major part in my story as well as many others. She provides a platform for small businesses by hosting Pop up shop block parties! So many peoples businesses have been able to become visual just by Alex providing the space!
