We had the good fortune of connecting with Monet Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monet, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Working in various capacities within the design industry gave me the know-how and insight to manage projects independently. Also, having the ability to help smaller businesses and non-profits is fulfilling and rewarding. I have a deep passion for art, expression, design and creativity. Reading is also a hobby of mine . I have recent began designing for higher education and I like the opportunity to make stereotypically “boring” educational content more aesthetically pleasing and delightful to read. Research reports should look and feel as entertaining as pop culture editorials,

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is in everything I do, I am most proud of my evolution as a creative. Starting on the fabrication side of art gave me inside skills in the physical creation of a piece of art. I was more concerned with “how to make the art” versus “how the art was made”. If that makes sense. But stay with me. I would look at a “design” (how it was made) and create a physical, 3-dimensional version. Now, in 2024 I am more concerned with the design. Many professional deliverables have become digital, the endpoint. So, keeping that in mind I have been able to hone in on my design skills and create my design philosophy and process that works for me while designing anything rather it be a book cover or a stage set.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Whenever friends come to town NONI’s in Edgewood is always a go-to. If you are into late-night treats I would definitely check out Sublime Donuts. Osha Thai Sushi Galleria is amazing as well. The Atlanta Botanical Garden never disappoints and I love the High Museum. I am a nature girl so the Palisades and Clyde Sheperd’s nature reserve are amazing for hikes and and nature walks. The Atlanta Beltline parks and trails are another great way to spend time outdoors and see Atlanta.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a big shout-out and thank you to Alex Carson of Eclipse Fitness for giving me a safe space when I came to Atlanta. Not only is he my trainer, but he has been a tremendously inspiring and supportive friend to me. Even on days I wanted to give up or slack, he would not let me. I appreciate you! He has helped me discover a lot about myself.
