We had the good fortune of connecting with MJ Chante’ and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi MJ, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was how can I fix a problem for people on a mass scale and change my life while doing so?

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the owner of a holistic care brand 4D Organics. I created this company because I wanted others to experience self-care without harsh chemicals. My family has enjoyed a lifetime of holistic living and the recipes have been passed down through the generations. When it was my turn to receive different recipes and tips I mixed the old and new together and created a business to help others. I enjoy what I do because the testimonials from the customers help me understand the impact my company has on the community.

It is not easy to start a business. I started my business right before the Covid 19 pandemic so it went up then down! I experienced a whirlwind of emotions but I did not give up on my vision. I overcame the changes that Covid 19 brought to my business by evolving. I began to offer services and virtual workshops to continue helping others.

I’ve learned as a business owner that you will need to solicit help to grow. You can not scale a business independently. I’ve also learned to be flexible and a closed door will not be the end you’re of the story!

I want the world to know that I am passionate about helping others rather it be through my product-based business, my speaking ability, or one on one coaching sessions. I am here to make an impact and give back!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I would like to thank my mother Felicia Davis for inspiring me. She has pushed me to understand my purpose and walk in it. My mother has taught me the importance of knowing myself and standing strong through storms. I would like to also thank Kandi Burruss. I was inspired by her when I first received her autograph at the tender age of 12 years old while walking with my mother at the Bronner Brothers Hair Show. That autograph is still something I hold dear to my heart as a symbol of black girl magic! I have watched Kandi transform her life through the years. She has created major productions, formulated a MLM company, held a seat consecutively on one of the most controversial reality tv platforms and she also has a course at GSU regarding her legal contracts which I hope one day to take. But my most prized contribution to Kandi’s project is Kandicares her business model of giving back to the community.

I admire her because she has a diverse range in Entrepreneurship. She is a true testament that a successful business model has many faces. I love that she is family-oriented and she keeps reinventing herself. The traits that she has are what I look up to and hope to be.

So yes, thank you Kandi for being my Mentor I appreciate you documenting your life and allowing us to take notes on the businesswomen you are!
