We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Cross and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I live by this philosophy that if you give up you are admitting to yourself that you never really wanted it as bad. Whether it be starting your business and it not going how you want or becoming a musicican and only getting a 100 views for your tracks. If you give up you truly never wanted it bad enough. The misconception about sucess is that success is the end goal making $10,000 in profit from your business in a month or finally getting recognized for muscial talent, Sucess is the path way while achieving those things from going to $5000 to $10,000 to receiving 100 views to a 1000 that is the defintion of sucess the journey it takes to get to where you wanna be.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel like what truly sets me apart from others is the fact that my music is a reflection of my life. Its genuine its not me trying to sell a story for clicks for views, its me giving my supporters a peace of my soul the things that I use to experience or even experiencing currently. On top of that I usually have a message every now and then to my tracks and a positive one at that because nowadays its too much negativy and I feel as if I can help every 1 person out of a 100 listeners im doing something right. What i’m most proud about is that how dedicated I am to my craft nowadays I find myself working and coming back home and recording then sleeping and theres no in between. It makes me proud how dedicated I am to this because it takes a certain level of discpline and dedication to truly tune everything out and focus on what you truly want in life. I honestly feel like I got to where im at today by manifestation and putting in the work, people dont understand this music stuff is like a job you gotta clock in everyday if you truly want to prosper with it. I admit in the past I wasn’t as focused as I am today but i’d still put in the work somewhat and thats how it is with anything you want in life if you want it you gotta work for it. It isnt simply just gonna come to you in your hand you have to go chase it and never stop. Was it easy? It definitely wasn’t easy it took a lot of trail and error, and on top of that dealing with my personal life not being a good person affecting me as well and just losing motivation and being depressed so I had a lot to overcome in my past and through prayer and changing myself for the better I finally overcame most of that stuff. The lessons i’ve learned along the way are that no matter what happens you gotta keep going you have to keep the ball rolling because if its something your passionate about you dont wanna regret it in your future you dont wanna be 5o thinking wow I could’ve started that business but due to this and that and making excuses for yourself you didn’t. It’s better to try and not be succesful then to not try at all and live with that regret. I honestly want people to know that where I am at today is simply because of the dedication and the believe in myself and with that being said I want you to belive in yourself no matter what it is. No one believes in you like you and we fully are aware of our owns potential you just have to stop being distracted and focus on what matters and that even tho im not where I wish to be with due time it’ll come and you all will know exactly why it came hard work, dedication, and believing in yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend visited the city i’d honestly recommend them to andretti indoor karting and games in marietta thats a great spot or simply just going downtown to the aquariam or coca cola factory. To eat i’d recommend benihanas thats always a really good place to eat, or iron age.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d honestly have to give shoutout to my group of friends from highschool who I still speak with till this day. My friend chino the photographer always pushed me to keep striving with the music, that I have potential and that the dreams I dreamed of were achievable. We’d randomly go out sometimes to shoot a music video and yeah they didn’t get many views but it was the fact that he was willing to put time into something that im passionate about and that says a lot, not many people are willing to spend their time doing things like that with nothing in return. Secondly i’d like to thank my other friend andy. Without him this confidence that I have today would not be here. I first started insecure about my music and with a little push from him it really helped and now today im flourshing in a sense with my music and thats a really big thing to me. He could’ve simply not said anything or choose not to push me to get out there but he did and as a result I found myself. Lastly this one goes out to my mom. Our relationship use to be a little on the bad side but no matter what she’s always supported me, she’s always been there for me no matter what whether it be a heartbreak or a tough time in my life she’s always the person I can go to and truly be honest and expect no judgement just genuine advice and for that I just wanna say im so appreciative of her and will always be.
