We had the good fortune of connecting with Marquita Jennings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marquita, what makes you happy? Why?
I define happiness as me being in a state of doing what I love while being stress free. If you aren’t doing what you love, how are you living? It doesn’t have to be full time but you have to do something you enjoy daily to break away from the stresses of life!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As of today, I’m most proud of pleasing my clients when it comes to photography and growing my engagement when it comes to travel content creation. How I got here wasn’t easy as I spent plenty of time creating marketing, learning, practicing and reaching out to potential clients. In order to manage this, I build out a calendar and a priority list to keep me on track! I had to start doing this to know what needed to be done immediately or what could wait which has allowed me to focus on my actual business instead of the routine tasks.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was coming to visit me in Atlanta for a week, here is what we would do (hopefully in a warmer month when we our out of quarantine): Monday: Arrival day is when we would chill and I would cook dinner at my home. Tuesday: We would visit Six Flags White Water to enjoy some fun in the sun and have food delivered at home for dinner from Uncle Maddio’s! Uncle Maddio’s has great pizza! Wednesday: We will visit the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. You have to get some learning in while visiting such a historic city! We will end the day at an Atlanta United soccer game and have Fox Bros at the stadium! Thursday: On this day, we have to visit Ponce City Market! We will head there for shopping then lunch at one of the many restaurants from different ethnicities. Afterwards, we will rent a bike to spend time on The Beltline. Lastly, we will enjoy dinner at Poor Calvin’s. Friday: It’s the weekend! We will head up to the Buckhead neighborhood early to shop at Lenox Square then go down the street to have lunch and sangrias at Gypsy Kitchen. We will rest up in the afternoon and then go to dinner at Negril Village just to party it up at Boogalou. Saturday: ATL loves to brunch and we will start the day partying at BQE Restaurant & Lounge. Then, hopefully pop through one of many festivals that happens in the A before sliding through the Bailey Wine Cellar. We will end our long day at the City Winery for dinner and some live entertainment. Sunday: See ya later from Hartsfield-Jackson!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
One of my best friends, Melanie, deserves some credit within this shout out! She is located in my hometown of Cleveland, OH who quit her 9 to 5 years ago to start her dream of becoming an entrepreneur by owning her own food service business! Also a few years ago, I will never forget her saying to me that I should tell my own travel tips because I seemed to have an answer for anything travel related. Even to this day we chat about our endeavors and topics to assist on my YouTube channel. I hope I return the favor to her (I believe I do)!
