We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Evans and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marcus, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting a business can be an exciting yet challenging endeavor. My thought process behind starting my own photography business, M T Evans Photography, was driven by a passion for photography and a desire to share my creativity with others. I wanted to turn my passion into a profession, allowing me to capture special moments for clients while also expressing my artistic vision. Additionally, I saw an opportunity to offer unique services tailored to specific niches, such as event photography that focuses on storytelling and emotional moments, which set my business apart and catered to a specific audience. Overall, starting my own business was a way for me to pursue my passion, create something meaningful, and share my work with the world.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is deeply rooted in storytelling and emotion, particularly in the realm of event photography. What sets me apart is my ability to capture candid moments that truly reflect the atmosphere and feeling of each event. I strive to go beyond just documenting the occasion, aiming to tell a compelling narrative through my photos.
I’m most proud of the connections I’ve made with my clients and the trust they place in me to capture their important moments. It’s incredibly rewarding to hear how my photos have touched their lives and preserved memories for years to come.
My journey to where I am today professionally has been filled with challenges, like my motorcycle accident that started this journey, but each obstacle has been a learning opportunity. Building a photography business from the ground up is no easy especially in a competitive industry. I’ve had to continuously refine my skills, adapt to new technologies, and stay on top of trends to remain relevant.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of perseverance and patience. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and there have been times when I’ve faced setbacks. However, by staying focused on my goals and continuing to push forward, I’ve been able to overcome these challenges and grow both personally and professionally.
Ultimately, I want the world to know that my photography is more than just a job for me—it’s a passion. I pour my heart and soul into every project, and I hope that passion shines through in my work. My goal is to continue telling meaningful stories through my photography and videography to create lasting memories for my clients.
