We had the good fortune of connecting with Marc Apple and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marc, is there something you believe many others might not?
I disagree that a local business can’t compete against the giants in their industry because they are small. It’s just plainly untrue. With a locally-focused marketing strategy that ties the business to their community and provides great customer service you can compete and beat anyone.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m part of Forward Push, an award-winning marketing agency that believes that you don’t have to grow your company alone. We are a team of creative thinkers and analytic problem solvers, that challenges the status quo while staying rooted in the research. We help small to medium-sized businesses with their marketing. Everything is customized to their unique needs with an emphasis on their marketing budget and goals. We do everything from website design and development, social media management, blogging, video production, digital advertising and more. My days are never boring and always filled with new challenges. That’s what I like best about helping business owners. We help them understand how marketing is important and then show them real-world results that help build their business and bottom line. It’s very satisfying to hear from a client after they have closed a big deal and you know the person found out about them from the marketing efforts you did. And while I don’t do the work to win awards, it is always nice to be recognized. Our most recent accomplishment was being named the #1 Digital Marketing Agency in Atlanta by Expertise, a leading reviewer of marketing agencies that rates firms on their reputation, engagement, credibility, professionalism, and experience.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It’s a quick weekend visit to Atlanta, so here’s where we’ll be. You’ll find us at Waffle House for breakfast so they can experience an All-Star Breakfast and some real southern grits. After breakfast, we’re going to grab our beach cruiser bikes and hit The Path to work off some of that breakfast and what’s to come next. After a few miles or so, we find ourselves in downtown Decatur for lunch. We’re off to Victory Sandwich Bar for Little Havana sandwiches with a couple of Spike Sodas to help wash these down. We’re still not full and ice cream from Jeni’s is calling out to us. I wonder what flavors we’ll have today?!? Next stop, back home to sit on the deck and listen to RadioTucker.com, a local streaming radio station that plays a mix of music for any taste. It’s great to have a locally-focused radio station that isn’t owned by a big company right here in Atlanta. Time to wash up and get some dinner… we’re a little tired so we’re going for delivery and ordering from HopStix in Chamblee. This is a Forward Push favorite as we love their Asian-Fusion cuisine and in-house made beers.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Many years ago before starting Forward Push, I worked in the radio industry. It was long hours with very little pay. On top of that, you didn’t receive much recognition for the hard work you were doing. That all changed one day when a leader joined our team. Every Friday as it close to 5pm, she would make it a point to thank each one of us individually for our contributions that week and let us know to have a great weekend. However small that gesture might seem, it made all the difference. My shoutout goes to L.M..
