We had the good fortune of connecting with Makeda N Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Makeda N, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I decided to start Queenoftheyoni. I wanted to empower women of all colors with their feminine health issues. In 2018 I was diagnosed with PCOS, I had lost my menstrual cycle for over a year and had fertility issues. I was devastated and refused to use birth control to regulate my cycle. I did my research and came across a natural feminine wellness company. I ordered their PCOS kit and started healing my womb. This wellness kit includes Yoni Pearls & Yoni Steams. After my first cleanse with the pearls my menstrual cycle returned. After 3 months I was completely free of PCOS. I was ovulating again and fertility wasn’t an issue anymore. I was overjoyed, I had an epiphany I wanted to cleanse, replenish and heal women so they can become the Queen of their Yoni.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It was not easy at first. I overcame my challenges by organizing my schedule and learning to multi-task. Being a co teacher and an entrepreneur taught me the essence of time management.
I want the world to know that Queenoftheyoni is a holistic feminine wellness company dedicated to women of all colors.
Your womb is like a plant, you have to take care of it with natural resources that will internally cleanse, replenish and nurture the womb. Western medicine recommends a lot of products that will give you unpredictable long term health issues.
Holistic feminine health will not give you side effects that will turn into major health problems in the future. For example Infertility, Fibroids, Cysts, PCOS, Endometriosis, Ovarian Cancer, Hysterectomy and so much more!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to visit the one and only Manhattan, NY. It would be a weekend trip. We would go to one of my favorite restaurants called Philippe Chow. This 4 1/2 star beauty is perfect for celebrating any occasion. Afterwards we would have drinks at 1Oak NY and party for the rest of the night. Sunday we would wind down our weekend at my treasured spa called The Well NY. This spa is a gem, one of my dearest treatments is the lymphatic massage. This treatment will replenish the mind, body, soul and help with eliminating toxins. We would follow up with an enzyme facial and end our spa day with a mani/pedi.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout-out to my parents for imprinting herbalism in me from the time I was a child. Being raised by vegetarian parents helped me understand a natural lifestyle can truly heal the mind, body & soul. Thank you Mom and Dad without you both I wouldn’t be so passionate about herbalism.
