We had the good fortune of connecting with Madam Carmen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madam, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process started at 16 when I wanted to be a Porn Director/Adult film producer. I always viewed adult media as a form of art. To see bodies intertwining together, no matter if it was the same people each time, each intertwining was it’s own work of art. After entering the amateur adult industry as a performer, I began my process of learning and educating myself more on the industry and what it lacked and what could be improved for the sake of it to be not only a form of art but be expressive and representative to people like myself with out so many stigmas and the patriarchal perspective.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a Practitioner of a Alternative lifestyle has helped me be able to provide so many alternative ways for adult media to be expressed. With the use of so many resources and processes that are within the BDSM and Fetish lifestyle that helped keep the community safe, I’ve been able to implement and incorporate those into our productions and various media styles to show a much safer and more ethical way to ingest porn. Not only that, just like food, even though, Porn is consider a form of fantasy play, what we ingest media wise plays a major role and truly impacts the way we view the world, so being able to see more representation, more kinks and fetishes safely practiced on screen, with the use of Consensual protocols helps the overall way we will start to view the world our side of us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It would honestly depend on their interests. My friends all carry their own personalities differently, and they’re my friends for a reason so a lot of what we do would reflect their interests as well as mutual interests we share together. One major commonality that most of my friends and I hold is FOOD! So I’d always make sure we explore the different types of food within the area, as well as showing them various places with nature and art, just for them to get a taste of what the city or place has to offer in a more natural and cultural way.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate this shout out to all of the black Queer and Kinky Folk and even the enthusiasts and curious folk that have always supported my dream and understand the vision I have to make this world a better place through my own lens.
